He was giving Mosley a real whipping in there, and this kid is only 21.

He really could go on to big things.

Yes he did... First time he's been cut to and he handled it well... brought the pain and made a great fight. Mosely was no sluch either and went out like a true warrior.

Would you still favor Kirkland to beat him? :D

No, that was more of a gimmick and trying to build the fight.

I still want to see that fight, Kirkland will bring it big time and Alvarez would probably take him out in very brutal fashion.

Most people disregard the age, and say he is gonna Peak very soon... and will burn out... But I don't see I think he is just gonna continually get better and face very good guys at an early stage and still come out on top.

Can't wait to see who Golden Boy lines up next for him.

    Top contenders are:

    1.) Tom A. Toecan
2.) Chai-Na Chin (Top Chinese contender)
    3.) Manny Lossis
    4.) Izzy Alive
    5.) Tim Burr

I wasn't "immensely" impressed with anything he did in this fight. It was pretty standard fair. I mean, he handled the cut okay, but it's not like Sugar had anything in him to target it and make it a factor.

All that to say, it was definitely not a defining performance. He just beat up an old guy.

I love his combination punching. If he and Kirkland fought, I think Kirkland would wind up looking up at the lights.

I was. I cant wait to see him in a fight with a guy who comes to fight, and is in his prime. shane was simply old and outgunned. I'm an alvarez fan after last night. he's kind of a wrecking ball. some of the shots he connected with were tough to watch. I think the best matchup at 154 is erislandy lara and alvarez, but i'd love to see canelo in against williams, kirkland, and molina, in that order.

He gots a lot of hate on here, but he's pretty good fighter. In fact, if he wasn't handed that title, there wouldn't be much bad to say about him. Hopefully they put him in there with a top 10 guy in September.

He was not just beating Mosley, but beating him up.

I really was impressed, I can't deny that.

    :smoke

It was quite painful to watch, Mosley looked pretty much outclassed in every instance of the fight.

Mosley looked out on his feet at the end of one round too, something you don't see everyday with Shane.

When is the last time Mosely got beat up like that?

I know PAC couldn't catch him but a flash KD and touched gloves like 1000 times.
    Mayweather outboxed him
    Mora just Drew
    Margarito Couldn't do it
    Marorga came up short...

I Mean if he is old why wasn't PAC able to beat him up, all excuses on Mosely for running? It's called closing the ring... Alvarez did it well... it was a Good Beating... and some shots were Just LIKE WOW AHHHHHHH OHHHHHHSSS at Hooters by Casual Fans.
