He wasn't just 'pressing the action', he was landing CLEAN BLOWS dude. Did you count the body shots he was landing? You , just like the HBO crew, are heavily overstating what Floyd was able to do with his defense. He was not picking off or rolling off a lot of those punches. Many of them were landing, and nobody picked up on this.
Oh jesus. Gander Tasco, one of the worst...I mean, best posters on ESB has shown us the light and will save Miguel from the apparent 9-3 score the MAJORITY of people have and reveal the truth! It's almost biblical in it's revelation...
No poster in ESB history has ever hated a fighter more than Gander_Tasco hates Mayweather. Maybe Jack Prescott with DLH. Maybe Lance_Uppercut (also with Mayweather) Maybe a couple of Klitschko/Lewis extremists here and there. The hate is strong in these ones.
Trust me a lot was landing. Floyd was getting hit some good body shots and hits. Cotto was the much busier guy and if anything Floyds punches were being block a lot of the times last night.
I did score those. I looked at every punch, the rounds I gave to Cotto he did more and landed more from what I saw. You cant score rounds on defense, you score them on effective punches.
I hate Floyd for saying he won a close fight?? Maybe you should rewatch the fight and give Cotto more credit, because he deserves it.
What I'm saying is you dont win points on rolling off shots or blocking punches, you score rounds on effective punches. Cotto landed a lot more effective punches then people are putting on.
Cotto landed some good body shots, but many of them were being blocked. Mayweather was actually landing the better body shots. There are several reports that Cotto was urinating blood after the fight. And yes, the 8th round was only round Cotto clearly won. I'm telling you, you're having trouble telling what punches are actually landing. If you watched the fight in slow motion, you would see what I'm talking about. You not only watched a different fight than me, but a different fight than the overwhelming majority of people who saw that fight. Honestly, what are, the odds, that all 3 judges, Lederman, Merchant, Steward, Lampley, COMPUBOX, most ringside observers, and most fans are just all biased? When you're dealing with the subjective, and most people have a different opinion than you, you have to consider the possiblity that your analysis is flawed. Last week I scored the Hopkins/Dawson fight a draw. Even though one judge agreed with me(which is more than what you can say), most other observers thought Dawson clearly won. Now I can be stubborn and claim everyone doesn't know what they're talking about(not likely), or I can accept that my interpretation of the fight was flawed.
I guess Floyds nose and mouth got busted over and over magically. Cotto didnt land any effective punches and didnt press the action for most the night. His jab was non-existent.
