Why was Cotto so much easier for Pacquiao than he was for Mayweather?

Pacquiao fought a younger, fresher Cotto.

Pacquiao lost one round of twelve on my card, dropped him twice, stopped him, dominated him, bashed him up, and made him run away trying to just survive.

Mayweather lost a few rounds, didn't drop him, didn't stop him, got bloodied up, and got a wider decision on the cards than he actually deserved.

    Stylistically, why was this?

Even Floyd fans can't seriously say it was the weight.

Cotto's first world title was at 140, and his best wins came at 147 (Mosley, Judah, Clottey, Quintana), so it's not like he was some Mike McCallum type guy who grew up at 154. Cotto's resume at 154 is not very good (Foreman - mediocre, Margarito - borderline shot, Mayorga - both), so it's not like he's performing better there than he did elsewhere. That's bull****.

And if I hear one more person say "catchweight" I will petition the moderators to rename this the Irrational Forum. Cotto weighed ONE POUND less for Pac than he did for his previous fight vs Clottey. One pound? Please.

Anyway, all stylistic points will be welcome :good

There is a reason DLH and Clottey and Mosely were allowed to weight 147 but Cotto 145...

    145<154

    END/

Count PACULA won by Drainage.. This More experienced, bigger, better trained, physically better COTTO stomps the Catchweight kiing @ 154

I love Floyd in a gay way so I'm pretty bias.

That aside, I don't think the weight had THAT much of a impact it's nog like 20 pouns or something crazy like that it's one division. I think Pacquiaos agressive, in-and-out style doesn't matchup with cottos style. But I think the fight would have been abit more competetive and maybe a UD. Still for Pacquiao.

What Pacquiao did against Cotto was astonishing to say the least.

  6. Pac raped Cotto of his confidence. In an interview, Pac said that he went up against the ropes and let Cotto bang away so as to say you can do nothing to take me out. It had even greater effect when Pac came off the ropes and dropped him with a heavy left. Cotto was never once fearful or respectful of Floyd.

Pac had to take Cotto's advantage away, Floyd fought Cotto full on, No BS.

because floyd is just not as good as his lemmings want to believe. not at 147 and above. he knows this himself, that is why he is so sure that pac is on roids, because pac makes his toughest opponents look like decent sparring partners.

Many reasons. Main one being styles. Manny did his thing and Cotto could not adjust.
Other very important reason which had a huge impact was that Cotto did not have a proper trainer during training camp. He had his mitt man.
The plan Cotto executed for Manny was wrong from the beginning even though he won maybe two rounds early in the fight.
I give lots of credit to Diaz (Cotto's trainer) for last night's performance.
