Based on an earlier poll, I thought I'd add this one to even things out. Pac vs Cotto: Cotto at 145, coming off a controversial win to Clottey and a destructive loss to Marg Floyd vs Cotto: Cotta at 154 (for a a few years), having strung together a couple of wins, the most recent being a re-match over Marg
Fair enough. Just evening things out from the earlier poll about who was better against Cotto. Obviously Pac, but you have to consider the versions each fought.
Floyd but not by that much. I think overall pacqauios win is better. Both good wins for both fighters really, but Pacs is a bit more special due to the sheer domination.
Well according to most *****s Cotto was already shot when Pac fought him...so yeah, take it from there.
The brutal fashion Pac smashed Cotto means Pac by some distance, no fighter can be the same after such a vicious beating, but it shows how over hyped May is too, esp as May is naturally bigger than Cotto.
To those voting for Pacquiao I'd like to have a logical discussion right here. I'd like to see how anyone could explain to me how a catchweight request for a fighter who has been weighing 146-147 and fully settled at welterweight for 3 years straight is better than weighing comfortably at 154.
Floyd because the fight with Manny wasn't at the welter weight limit. It made no sense for Manny to fight Cotto at a catch weight when he has already fought at the welter weight limit.
Not to mention: 1. He was going through an extremely tough patch in his career for the past 18 months, having lost to Marg in brutal fashion (and possibly with loaded gloves) and went life and death with Clottey, a guy he would have beaten much clearer pre-Marg 1; 2. His corner for the Pac fight was questionable; 3. He moved straight to 154 immediately after; and 4. Spent a number of years at 154, was settled, had the best trainer of his career, and had re-invented himself after that horrible 18 month period of his career (at point 1 above), culminating in a avenging his loss to Marg.
Cotto was 3 years younger when Pac fought him and didn't get the worst beating of a lifetime, which Pacquiao gave him. GTFOH, seriously. Cotto is like 4-5 years removed from his prime right now and has taken two horrendous beatings.
