Why was Cotto so much easier for Pacquiao than he was for Mayweather?

I remember Pacman with a bandaged ear and all banged up. That didn't look easy against Cotto.

There“s something certain... When Cotto and Mosley fought Floyd, they got outclassed, but were trying to find at least a miracle until the end.

Against Pacquiao, both were in survival mode by round 4-5. They were completely terrified of the catfish-faced midget.

    This. . .

They both need to sit down, and make this fight happen. . .

If Floyd doesn't want to do 50/50, then he needs to see if Pac will agree to a 60/40 winner type deal... But you can't just offer him a flat fee like he's some opponent, and not let him in on the PPV revenue, which has the possibility to be crazy high.

Yeah, the first four rounds he did some damage. . . It's one of those deals where he was never in any trouble of being KO'd, but was without a doubt taking painful punches. . . It's just that he could see the punches coming, with his earmuffs on. . Whereas Cotto got caught, and couldn't see Pac's blinding punches, hence the KD's. . .

Haha for some reason it was funny seeing Pac smiling ear to ear with that damn big ass bandage over his ear. . .

Agreed. I don't care if it's 50-50 or some other deal they come up with. Floyd need to be reasonable about of a deal where he doesn't expect take take home 70% of the profits. Negotiations need to move forward and outlandish demands will only stop it from moving forward.

Styles make fights. That's the end of it really.

On a slightly different note, and I'm probably gonna start a thread on this, is why was Pac able to solve that jab of Cotto's in under 4 rounds (countering him at will thereafter) while it was connecting all night long to Mayweather's face.

I was utterly shocked by that. FMJ, after all, is a hundred folds more technically sound than Pac.

And made a firmer stand that should Pac and Mayweather fight, that lead left of Pac will connect all night long, while that right hook will counter the jab to the body of Mayweather all night long as well.

styles makes fights. Hearns sort of swelled the right side of Hagler's fight and wobbled him and cut him up in 3, and Ray went 12 but it was more like sparring. Just styles. I actually think Mayweather did better than Pacman against Mayweather. Pacman was banged up. I heard Mayweather was at the Miami Heat/Knicks game today.

Not to be an ******* or anything.

but you are saying the truth (less exaggerated)

most of pacmans fans are philipinos who dont know much of boxing, MMA fans who hate mayweather, and other fans who dont know much about boxing and just knows pacquiao throws alot of punches and is fast and strong.

Me personally I think mayweather beats pacquiao.

but if the fight happens would I be shocked if pacquiao beats mayweather?

    not at all.

Hmmm why did Cotto match up differently vs a boxer puncher and a pure boxer?

How could the results possibly be identical with such distict stylistic approaches.

It seems that the worst case scenario may end up being a reality with Mayweather Pacqioa not happening until both are well past there best.

I don't buy the 145 drain for the reason that until the 4th round or so when Pac dropped Cotto - Cotto was touching Pacman more than any other opponent aside from JMM.

Let's see. Cotto just got beat with bricks then had a tough outing with Clottey and on top of that his trainer was his strength and conditioning coach plus he had to fight at a catch weight. Floyd still took less damage than Pac did against Cotto. Once the post fight high wears off youll see the shots you thought were landing and whatever rounds you thought Cotto may have won just wasnt the case.

I disagree, i think Pac still wins but it would be much more competitive, their fight in 09 was competitive before Pac hurt Cotto. IMO the whole fight changed once it was confirmed that Pac could easily hurt him, IDK if he would be able to hurt him with 10 ounce gloves at 154, in fact I don't think he would be, at least not early in the fight.
