The OP sums up my feelings as well.

When I buy a Mayweather PPV, it's to see him lose. Last night he showed grit against a top fighter that pushed him as far as he had been pushed in a long time.

I also liked the respect Mayweather showed in the Post fight interview with Merchant. I hope he gave Cotto the same respect in the post fight presser.

All in all as a die-hard ANTI-Mayweather fan, I give him huge props for his performance last night. He fought at Cotto's weight and showed heart and grit in there. I hope if he decides to challenge himself further and go for the MW title that it is at 160.

Floyd won't go to 160. He's been in 2 tough fights at 154. I think 160 is a major stretch for him, but, props to him if he went there and won a belt. Even if it was against a scrub. I think 160 is wrong for him in terms of physicality.

You may be right--I just don't want to see him in a BS fight at 154 with the 160 champ.

It's really tough to say what is next for Floyd. I have believed for awhile that the fight with Pac will never happen so what other challenges are out there for him except to win at 160?

Fight Khan? Fight at 160? He has options. He's already flip flopping. Before Cotto he had said he wants 5 more fights, now is apparently gonna think about retiring as there may be no logical fights out there.

    I don't see him retiring.

PBF weighed in at 151 last night and 150 against Oscar, fighting at 160 he will be giving away 10lbs officially and probably about 30 lbs on fight night . . . thats a huge order for these lower middle weight classed fighters

Cott's wife looks good, and she's got like 4 kids! I bet Floyd's girl don't look AS phenomenal after 4 kids.

I agree--but what else is out there for him--

I assume the position that the Pac fight will never happen--so there is really nothing left that he will get any credit for besides fight the MW champ at 160.

If he fights Khan next, depending on how Khan looks in his upcoming rematch, Mayweather won't get as much credit--The knock on Khan will be he came up to fight Mayweather and he really was not ready for the type of skill level of Mayweather.

Mayweather will need a larger than life challenge like moving to 160. It is bigger than anything else out there for him. With his skill level, I give him a great shot at pulling it off, weight difference be damned.

I disagree. Khan would be a very good win under his belt.

so would Canelo similar to lewis vs bitchsko. Khan and canelo might not be ready but by the time they are floyd may have called it quits so fight him while you've got the chance with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Its no disgrace losing to floyd and if you win you dethroned the king. Also people like floyd, pac, lewis when he was top dog should be giving these young lions there shot

Maybe--it depends on what happens in Khan's upcoming rematch. If Khan shows he has learned some new skills--like fighting on the inside--and he shows he is able to change his game plan and demonstrates a higher ring IQ. If the rematch goes about the same as the last one--I don't think Mayweather would get as much credit.

I felt Mayweather made the fight harder then he had to. Felt he couldve moved and outboxed Cotto alot easier but I'm glad he said **** it and stood there, he knew Cotto couldnt hurt him.

I never was a hater.......but that was by far my favorite Floyd fight (vs Cotto and vs Corrales), my favorites..........strangly I re-watched Floyd vs Hatton more times than Floyd vs Corrales.....
