Nobody else thinks floyd made the fight seem closer than it really was?

This is exactly what happened. He couldve made that fight a snoozefest. Cotto deserves credit but he wanted to entertain the fans...he's had fights like this early in his career his fight vs Burton his fight vs. Chavez...he stood in the pocket and brawled with Miguel hopefully Manny thinks he stands a chance now and won't be afraid to make the fight becuase he's not going to fight Manny like this...in 4 round vs Ortiz he didn't fight this way...and still undefeated 43-0

 

Everyone is giving Cotto too much credit.

 

I thought Cotto fought well, but Mayweather stood in with him a lot, and that is what made the fight close and competitive in my opinion. Floyd could have stayed on the outside and picked Cotto apart enroute to an easy win. I give Mayweather props for standing in with Cotto the way he did, he gave us what we wanted to see and that was a good fight.

 

i thought he was just going through the motions for much of the fight. no real fire to his game. uninspiring performance

 

I though that as well but also think that he was not expecting Cotto to go that hard either.

 

my line of thinking definitley...i think floyd could have made this look easy....he could have put us to sleep ala dirrell/curtis stevens, probably, if he wanted to

i dunno if he was trying to lure pac in....might have been...but i agree that if he fights pac he might make it a snoozer

Haha you guys think Floyd purposely got busted up bloody nosed on purpose!? Wow that's really reaching for some explanation by the Floyd fans and Cotto haters.

 

I thought he should have used his Jab a lot more because when he has used it in the past, fights are a lot easier for him...but supposedly his left-hand was injured. I don't know. It could have been true but there have been fights that I thought he didn't use the Jab nearly as much as he could have. I know I'm not the one fighting but its not like I'm asking him to use the uppercut more...it's the JAB.

I could be wrong but he looked a bit tired at times. Cotto and his Body-shot(s) may have took something out of him along with some shots to the face which bloodied his nose... if it wasn't down to age and inactivity as well. I'll give credit to Cotto on this one given nobody questions the shape Floyd comes in at no matter his age and inactivity levels.
Cotto's body-shots are no joke. And a bloody nose that forces you to breathe out of your mouth...

Floyd won as was expected....Pac looked horrible against Marquez..Floyd dominated the fight technically....not physically....Floyd won 8-3-1 even.

He didnt get busted up. At the end of the fight he still barely had a mark on his face. The only thing Cotto did that did any damage was land his jab on floyds nose.

 

Cotto sure as **** wasnt fast enuff to cantch him when he started moving. He decided to stand in because he knew Cotto couldnt hurt him. It was pretty easy to see that.
