It was after Oscar threw a combination. There weren't many, but Floyd's hand moved forward to parry and left the right side of his face open.

Floyd wasn't "locked" in that part, but he was defending against the ropes and Augustus/Burton landed a few throughout the fight when in the pocket.

This fight went exactly as Emanuel expected, and the proof is in this interview.

A few knowledgeable saw something in Cotto(e), and they were right. Floyd's daddy also predicted it wouldn't be as easy as usual for Floyd.

Except the part about the success of the left hook, but for once, he was glaringly right.

Cotto did have some success with left hooks to the body. More than I'd expected in, so even here I think Emanuel was actually on the money.

Cotto's jab was his best weapon, and he actually did even land a few decent rights, which also surprised me.

The fight was far more competitive than what I was expecting.

good prediction. He was right on :good I liked how he gave Floyd a lot of praise after the fight for it's entertainment and for his performance. Gave Cotto a lot of props too

He did a good job being objective even though it was his former pupil in there. Steward kept repeating how many of these combos you see Cotto(e) throwing are being picked off by the shoulder roll.

very true. Everybody was getting excited and it was Steward being the one to point it out.

A few people in early in the thread giving Steward grief - but the fight did turn out exactly as he said. A competitive fight with many close round - a victory, but a difficult one, for FMjr.

Oh you mean the part where Manny said himself on the broadcast that Cotto hasn't really been in position to shoot the hook to the body properly?

So you're basically debating a matter of degree?

He may not have landed as many hooks as Steward anticipated, but again, he sure landed more than I expected, and in light of that, Emanuel was still on point from my perspective.

most anti climactic 2 main fights I have ever seen in my life.

Oh well, I just helped Floyd's ******ed lifestyle.

Its not that it was his toughest fight, its just been that his opponents were pretty bad and obviously hand picked.

Come on Floyd your lame 12 round flurry against Cotto is not what the fans wanted to see. It was you fighting Manny Pacquiao.

I actually enjoyed the Mosley-Canelo & Floyd-Cotto fights. They were one-sided, yet competitive. Not the greatest fights, but I found them quite compelling nonetheless.

The Quintana fight was a fun watch, too.
