Stick to the subject. Floyd admitted he was wrong. Do you agree with Floyd admitting he was wrong and then apologizing to Larry?

One thing in general I've noticed in USA is how we treat our elders compared to other countries. . .

Here, little annoying kids are allowed to get away with everything, and they are just smiled, laughed at, and praised. . . While old people are viewed as nuisances to be sent to a home. . .

I have zero issue with him being the bigger man and apologizing. Doesn't stop the fact that Merchant is a right **** sometimes and not just pertaining to Floyd.

His commentating on Martinez's last fight was dreadful.

    I ask again...

Floyd fans, how does it make you feel when Floyd admitted he was wrong after you backed him up about his initial feelings on Larry Merchant?

I thought it was a classy move by Floyd as do most boxing fans. But why do I get this feeling you guys don't share that same feeling?

    Why?

    Why?

Don't you ever think Floyd can be a **** himself at times? Especially with how he handled Merchant during the post Floyd-Ortiz interview?

Figure this, Larry had been taking the **** out of Floyd for years prior to the May/Ortiz interview and there had been little heated exchanges between the two before. It was inevitable there would be a full meltdown one day.

Question: Why do you ignore the fact that Merchant has been disrespectful to plenty of other fighters and isn't well liked by them either?

Sometimes I apologize to the guy I hate at work simply because we have to act civilized at our workplace. I don't like him. However I'm mature enough to respect him as a human being.

I honestly don't know why they need Merchant. He doesn't appear to bring anything special to the table. If they fired him today I certainly won't miss him. The show holds up just fine whenever Kellerman takes his place.

I don't have a problem with what Floyd said to Merchant. Who cares? It's HBO, we're dealing with the fight game, and there's bound to be some clash of heads. If reporters can dish out then they should be able to take some heat as well.

It's fine to bury the hatchet. But if I was Floyd I wouldn't regret what I said. When you're pushed and belittled, you're bound to push back.

Should Merchant have avoided the sucker punch question? Should he have pretended like it didn't happen to avoid Floyd from completely losing it?

I know all about Merchant and don't agree with all his actions as well. Does that justify what Floyd did to him at that interview? All he asked about was the sucker punch. Was Larry wrong to bring up the topic?

    Yes? Or no?

Floyd answered the question the first time, just not to Merchants liking. Merchant asked him the same question but worded differently and that set him off.

So your recollection is a bit off.

Is it wrong then to re-ask a question if the answer wasn't clear enough? Why would Floyd get all crazy? Why?

Floyd was a gentleman and Merchant was stubborn. Mayweather had every right to retaliate for the headbutt with that controversial punch (legal, mind you), yet Larry instantly started the interview as if Floyd was bad sport. I would've been pissed as well until the point the drunktard threatened to hit me, because then I would've said "you won't do ****", and that's what left FMJ's mouth. Merchant even acted during Saturday's telecast like "okay, I accept the apology" as if HE didn't rain on FLOYD's parade, showing the winner little respect. It just shows the class difference, Floyd is the better sport, so it's all for the good.

I agree Floyd showed true class for once. He admitted his mistake and showed he was the better man of the two.

This thread is about why do most boxing fans seem to agree on this, except Floyd's own fans? It's like they are ashamed Floyd apologized or something.
