Maybe that had something to do with May dominating him the way he did, styles make fight's but, bringing up Marquez is not the best way to prove May is better, May also beat better versions than Hatton, De La Hoya, Mosley, and very good version of Cotto, regardless of how he did it, he won, Bringing up the Marquez vs May fight is not the best way to prove May's superiority over Pac, due to Marquez not having any experience whats so ever, fighting over 135 where he only had 2 fights.

Bring up DLH, Hatton, and Mosley. None of those 3 were fighting at 130 just 3 fights before fighting May.

The thing is it never happened at a weight where Marquez was comfortable fighting for a few years. I'm a huge Boxing fan, and at 130 May vs Marquez would have been a much much different fight. If you don't see the big disadvantage Marquez had at 146 vs May, then you must be a GIGANTIC May Fan, much much bigger than you are a fan of Marquez, actually it's very hard to believe a Marquez fan wouldn't give him a chance, and believes May would dominate Marquez as he did at 146.
