Pac stopped Cotto, beat the crap out of him. Cotto bloodied Void's nose and mouth. It was a close fight, but Void's judges gave him most of the rounds, even the close ones won by Cotto.
If floyd fought a slower way past prime cotto at 154 pounds then why pac demanded to fight cotto at 147 pounds in a rematch instead of 151 pounds that cotto requested? yeah thought so you dumba$$ *******s.
*Margarito beat him up worse than PAC. With plasters or not he still beat the **** out of him more than PAC or floyd. You agree Cotto was not in his prime when he fought PAC then? I think it's incredibly even. On one hand, Cotto just been ****ed up by cheato and arguably defeated by Clottey (pretty sure I had Cotto by one round) and fights at a catchweight (is an issue but not much as most suggest) Mentally still slightly worse for wear after the cheat fit, however he was 2 and a half years years younger which plays a fairly significant role. On the mayweather side you could argue that he's a lot fresher at this weight and also undefeated at it, however his opposition has been fairly poor. Put in a great performance against mayweather as well, whereas against PAC he just didn't seem to be his usual self (partly because of PAC) Cotto was a lot older when he fought floyd, which you could argue both ways, yes he's more experienced, however is probably out of his physical prime I normally favour floyd when it comes to most PAC-Floyd arguments however this time I have to go with PAC in a pretty close call. pretty surprised to see so many voting for floyd. Shows almost everyone on ESB has an agenda these days :-(
Cotto was more fresh when Pac fought him but was not as mentally focused or prepared as he was against Floyd. That being said, either version of Cotto loses to Pac and Floyd.
The people saying Pacquiao fought a better version are using the reasons that Cotto was a few years younger so must of declined with age and that *****s said he was declined back then so that must mean he's declined even more now or some logic like that.:huh Cotto looked great the other night and looked like a confident fighter compared to the one we seen at 147 after the Margarito battering, I'm not sure if it was beating Margo in the rematch that got rid of the demons but he looked far better for it. He's benefited from working with 2 different trainers since then too which has helped work on his defence and keeping it much tighter, I don't think I've seen a defensively sound Cotto ever throughout his career as I did Saturday night. The weight does help him too, I'd love to know what their in ring weight was as Cotto looked far stronger when he was leaning on Mayweather Trying to smother him, you can understand why they didn't want Pacquiao fighting him above 147 now. For the people saying Cotto must of declined as he was a few years older, does the same logic apply to Marquez with his fights between Mayweather and Pacquiao at welterweight?
pacquiao fought a cotto in his prime at his best division (WW) which is 3 years younger at age 28 and has lesser mileage and wars. it just so happen that pac knockdowned cotto and reduced to running all night. for the first two rounds, cotto was sharp and fast. pac changed his gameplan and decided to cover-up to lure cotto into a brawl. the rest is history.
Floyd did. Has mental advantage post margo 2 Surgery repaired his shoulder Better weight and a more suited corner.
theres a reason why more than 90% of boxers fight at the least weight they could make and why almost all go beyond the weight limit come fight night. think about it.
When do you think Cotto's prime ended then? Because he looked much better in the few fights at 154 and the Mayweather fight than he did in the few fights at 147 before fighting Pacquiao.
Floyd was the aggressor for many parts of the fight. Ridiculous statement from another agenda driven ******* atsch
cotto looked good against judah, mosley and even margarito for the first 6 rounds. he even beat clottey who is a stylistic nightmare for everyone. cotto's peak/prime ended just about right after the pac fight. he looked visibly slower at LMW but this could be the effect of going up in weight. i have no problem saying that cotto is still in his prime right now after seeing his fight against floyd. but to me, cotto is sharper and faster at WW. the only difference is that cotto could be wiser now after the two defeats against margo and pac.
