Floyd's prime was the time between Genaro and JLC (mostly at super feather, from '98 to '02). He's been past prime but still incredibly effective for a decade now while moving up many divisions.

Miguel's prime was his light welterweight run, '04 to '06. He's been past prime but still effective to a degree during his campaigns at 147/154 over the last six years.

This is disrepectful to anybody who gives floyd a close, competitive fight or if anyone beats him. they wont get props because people charge to age despite him dominating his past opponents beforehand and claiming him to be the best of this generation.

i understand fighters get old, but as long as you call yourself "the best ever" you need to fight top competition and if you lose or look less than stellar, don't ignore it.

floyd should retire before this happens, because if he gets beat, it would not be fair to the opponent b/c they won't get that respect. people will say "oh he caught him towards the end"

Floyd has slipped, not shot

cotto has slipped moreso than floyd, but hes not shot either

 

While Cotto physically would be more prime in 2008 he is a better overall fighter now then he was in 2008. The fact that the fight was at 154 nullifies the physical part. Other then just being younger there is nothing that the 2008 Cotto deos better then this Cotto that fought Mayweather.

IMO Cotto wouldn't have been able to catch Mayweather in 2008 he was way to quick. There would be way more movement from Mayweather, way more reflexes from Mayweather, and more hand speed.

 

Nah, he was a very well respected newspaper journalist(Texas primarily) for 30 years before deciding to do the show.

 

Skip Bayless said Mayweather is so scared of lefties that he had to be dragged and forced into the ring with Zab Judah against his will. And that Judah was the only Southpaw that he has fought.

Skip just talks for shock and awe though when it comes to things like Basketball and Boxing. Sports he doesn't follow as much as Football.

 

I watched and cringed a bit when Skip presented that Floyd's last southpaw opponent was Judah as a fact. Makes me think about how often he commits other fallacies in other topics he supposedly knows more about.
