Hatton's best weight is @140 and in fact, he was the best @140 during that time.. :deal Pac almost killed the guy.. And Mayweather was the best @147 and picked Hatton instead of Cotto or Margarito or Williams.. :smoke

Oscar said, that he was comfortable @147.. And he added, "What was he doing @160, @154 where @147 was the best for him.." :deal It came from the man himself.. If he couldn't make 147, how did he make 145 lbs? :smoke
Oscar was thinking that Pacquiao is like Gatti, he'll add him to his KO list.. But he failed.. :yep

Mosley came in with his guns loaded against Floyd.. He knew he can take his punches and he could have an opportunity for KO.. And Floyd outmuscled him.. But still, Mosley did not run and take Floyd's best shot for 12 rounds.. :deal
Against Pac, he was planning the same.. He was planning to counter punch.. But the moment he got knocked down, he chose to run away for 12 rounds.. Pac ate all his confidence.. :hey

They thought Cotto was a bigger fight.. And in fact, It is.. :smoke

    Its not Pacquioa's fault.. :nono
So its only Pac who has been upgraded after losing and other fighters are shot after they are defeated? :huh

If Manny Pacquioa can climb up to the top after suffering a defeat, then why can't they do that? :think

Cotto is stronger, no doubt.. But he would still fight the same against Pac.. You think those added power would KO Pac? You put the Cotto that Mayweather fought to the Pacquioa (with 10 oz gloves) who beat him and Cotto would suffer a beating (less brutal)..

People need to remember that Floyd is a boxer, Pac a (educated) puncher. Floyd is never going to have a two-round blow-out against anyone like Pac did over Hatton. Floyd's equivalent of that is a 10 round domination, like against Hatton.

But that's splitting hairs. The main difference is that Pac arguably lost twice against Marquez, while Floyd easily dominated him. This is all that matters. Quicker KO's are mostly due to style (puncher or boxer) and not all that important, as long as it's a clear win.

Also, Floyd fought the better version of pretty much all their common opponents.

    :huh

Then you think Cotto is a different fighter now, don't you?

    That's all wrong.. :nono

Mayweather has a good defense and lacks in ring activity.. :deal In order for fighters to win, they should have a better offense.. And that's the whole gameplan.. Once they got close, they hit Floyd with all they've got which makes them look like they are different fighters compared to their previous performance..

And against Manny, who is constantly moving from side to side to create angles, and is using in and out to escape most of the slug fest they can't showcase the same thing they did to Floyd..

    DLH=Mayweather
Mosley=Mayweather. Both dominated but he had the confidence going into Mayweather he was coming of a loss and a tie going into the Pacquiao fight
Hatton= not even close thats all Pacquiao
Marquez=not even close thats all Mayweather
    Cotto= Pacquiao
so i have a 2 for Pac and 2 for Mayweather with a tie

No you don`t, you gave the edge to floyd vs DLH, Mosely & JMM... you gave the edge to pac vs Hatton & Cotto.... thats 3-2 to floyd.

The DLH that fought Mayweather was in better shape, at 154, and JMW champ. The DLH that fought Pacquiao was drained. I would not compare them.

Pacquiao had better victories against: Hatton, Cotto and Mosley.

Mayweather had better victories against: Juan Manuel Marquez.

But comparing their common opponents is not so useful. The fighters have different styles and their context also plays a huge part.

That's right.Pacquiao is not boxer/puncher.He is a scrapper. We would destroy what is in front of him not box them. i think Clottey and Margarito can give Mayweather problems.

You know logic has no place in a discussion when talking to a Pac fan.

I love Cotto. he used the oscar plan much like hatton did.... tried to outwork floyd and keep the pressure up.

Cotto did a much better job of letting his punches go and throwing combos from many angles.

Now imagine Pacman using this plan. with faster hands/feet and power in both hands pacman throws from all angles and with a relentless pace. Pac KO Floyd.

    or

Imagine Floyd vs JMM. counter, pot-shot, etc.. Floyd UD Pac

JMM and Cotto are not as fast as Pac. I think Pac takes it. but he looks like hes slowing down. lets see what happens with the Bradley fight. I like Bradley and think this will be a tough fight.

I worry that Bradley's big dome will cause a vicious cut that will ruin any chance of the two meeting this year. :fire

DLH - I'm calling it 4 Mayweather. That was the giant and brave step towards unknown territory and in LV which is all Oscar's. Of course Manny stopped him but DLH had exactly the same disadvantages he had against Hopkins but in spite of being too small, he was completely drained and weak at 147 and at that age and Manny had motivation and plenty of energy.
Mosley - Manny didn't knocked him down for the first time since Forrest did it twice but I agree he had him at bay and on safety mode all night. Mosley got dominated in both fights but didn't win have a chance to rock manny like he did to Floyd.
Hatton - Manny's best performance thus far but Hatton gave Mayweather hell early and Floyd was able to stop a man who was highly motivated and didn't know that he could be defeated as all undefeated fighters think .
Marquez - Floyd fought a small man at welterweight and JMM couldn't even make it more than 142 while Hatton came at 145 to fight Floyd. Manny did beat him but no doubts JMM has his number and set the blueprint 4 a crafty technical fighter to offset him.
Cotto and Margo - Manny dominated all the fight but didn't try to finish him. Cotto was competitive with Floyd throughout their bout but at a most comfortable weight. Floyd second fight at 154 pounds. I would include Margo even tho Floyd never faced him but in the sense that Cotto busted him and outworked him, Manny did all the work b4 so that Margo came in bad shape against Cotto specially his eye and Cotto at the same weight Manny beat Margo muscled up and pushed Money backwards hard, I wouldn't say to the limits but hey.
Judah and Clottey - I would add this since Joshua did beat Zab b4 losing a shutout to Manny and Judah was very competitive against Floyd who used the same pressure strategy he used much later against Shane and which was to stand right in front of him and back him, frustrate him and finally almost stop him if zab hadn't pull a dirty move in round 10.

That said I understand that Floyd is using some smart language to avoid the fight from happening but in my opinion, even if Floyd gets the Lion share and manny submits to the tests, Floyd can really put his legacy in risk more than ever b4.
