Because you are not a jackass. Literally, if you were willing to make yourself look like a jackass on national tv you have a better shot at getting on ESPN than you do if you just do great Sports Analysis. Look at every anchor on there, except for what Adam Schefter every single one seems to be a loud mouth ******.

    He has. :blood

Mayweather's style was always reliant in large part on use of his legs.

His legs are functionally gone, or most of the way.

He's had to tweak his style a bit, accordingly. UNLIKE other guys whose styles were reliant on their legs and who lost them with age - guys like Cory Spinks and Ivan Calderon - he's been able to still be effective in spite of that. That's what sets apart the Great (Mayweather) from the merely Very Good (Spinks and Calderon).

What has Cotto lost, really? How was the dude in the ring the other night demonstrably "slipped" from where he was against, say, Quintana or Pinto years back?

Cotto isn't and was never shot. He was psychologically and mentally damaged after the loss to Margarito (which was itself a bad style match-up for him, not an indication that he was slipping). For pretty much all of 2009 - against Jennings, Clottey and Pacquiao - he was still bearing the scar tissue - mental scarring, mostly, but some literal scar tissue on his face as well and maybe some "softening" of his punch resistance - from that first loss. Hence the poorer than usual performances. Everything he's done since shows that he wasn't shot, just going through a rough patch.

Neither is shot. It was two past-prime fighters going at it, and there is absolutely no reason to think a "prime vs. prime" match-up would look at all different.

think people are over reacting to these comments a touch. the purpose of these shows is for the 2 pundits to debate current sports issues, each offering a different perspective. obviously one is going to offer the logical side to the argument and the other is going to reach. it's obviously working because it has people talking.

I bet if you put the the most volatile and articulate Esb ***** and ******* and pit them against each other on espn, it would make for great TV....although an articulate ***** is like finding a unicorn. Most seem to start sentences with "yo son...."

I use to like Skip, he use to present pretty good arguments that went against the norm.

Now he just trolls. Hes not really interesting at all anymore, he just says ridiculous things to get ppl to watch/read his work. I highly highly doubt he completely believes almost anything he says anymore.
