Floyd would have had problems with Margarito

  1. how did he pick wrong? he won the fight without dispute.....cotto has a fanbase.....floyds stock went nowhere....he will still remain #1 p4p and the pay per view sold great and floyd will make a boatload over the 32 mil guarantee......

how did he pick wrong? how is this a cherrypick gone wrong ? wow some people are dumb

Neither Baldomir or Corrales have the size or nonstop punching style of Margarito.
Add to it, Corrales did'nt have a stelllar chin, he was constantly being dropped in fights.

    You post makes zero sense.

Who has brought the pressure to Mayweather?
Its been Castillo, Hatton and Cotto.

Hatton of which gave Mayweather problems early but does'nt have the stamina or chin that Margarito has.

The skill level between Mayweather and Margarito is enormous, but you just cant dismiss that there is a style issue to be dealt with here for Mayweather.
Mayweather does'nt like it when he's applied the pressure and is made to work 3 minutes of every round and have to throw lots of punches.

3 minutes of every round is exactly what Mayweather would have to work when faced against Margarito.

Its too bad Mayweather never had the balls to test himself against a nonstop punching machine like Margarito, he just now works on the theme that if Mosley and Pacquiao could beat him, so could he, but he never had the balls to step into a ring with him and thats the bottom line! :deal

  3. so wait a second...floyd is a cherry picker....but pac isnt???

what do u call fighting hatton after floyd ko'd him....he was on ***** st on his hometurf against juan lazcano...and then beat feather fisted paulie???

what do u call fighting shane after floyd embarrassed him and he drew with sergio mora???

what do u call fighting oscar at 147 after floyd had beaten him and oscar hadnt fought at 147 in like 7 years?

what do u call waiting for jmm to be 38 and fighting him at 147 after floyd dismantled jmm at 147 and your fans claimed jmm had business at 147

Castillo at 135 is 2X the fighter Margarito will ever be. Cotto just fought a 35 year old Mayweather and is a better boxer than Margarito by days.

lol @ Hatton giving Floyd problems.

    Really bad comparisons.

You do know Floyd was going to fight Margarito, but arum turned down the Oscar fight so Floyd turned down the Margarito fight.

Nothing but a raw business deal.

Floyd wanted no part of Margarito in his prime, and even "retired" when it was becoming obvious that he was ducking him:

I agree with you that this was a great pick when it comes to fans and $$$. i loved it and wanted this fight back when Cotto was still undefeated. *also wanted to see Cotto/Hatton two of my favorites.

how did he pick wrong? AS I ALREADY said.... he didnt expect Cotto to take it to him like that and thought he was damaged goods. If Cotto was a KO type puncher it would have backfired.

  10. i bet you place the blame on floyd, for that fight not happening when cotto was undefeated, too

    which would be a joke

so now yer saying floyd doesnt have a chin? if cotto was a ko type puncher? floyd knew who/what cotto was when he picked him....and he expected a tough fight.....i dont know how cotto took it to him like that....floyd won comfortably

Better yet, watch Margarito/Clottey, where an injured,-offenisvely-limited,-trying-to-get-out-of-the-fight Clottey managed to befuddle Margarito by slipping punches in front of him and exploding with occassional combinations.

Hell no. Margo has no jab is too slow plodding and is wide open. PBF would have a field day with someone is limited as Margo it wouldn't be close.

1- Margaritto is too slow for Floyd
2- Floyd did duck Margaritto (probably due to his size. Tony was a beast at 147)
3- Hatton gave floyd Hell and was leading on the card thru 6.

Its hard to have a conversation with Floyd fanboys

Floyd was ready to fight Margarito when they were renewing his contract, as long as he got the Oscar fight after.

    Arum said no.
