Exactly. No person in their right mind would accept that offer when Arum has the judges in his pockets.

50% of a Top Rank split will be less than he made for Cotto.

Arum makes fights where he makes the most coin. That's why Pacquiao makes 6-7 million and Mayweather makes 32 million when their fights bring in similar revenue. So, again, is the 50/50 split based on Mayweather's model or Arum's model? If Mayweather's, 50/50 split works for everyone and the fight would get made. That's why Floyd said the fight can't be made until Pacquiao leaves Arum. For many years, everyone said Floyd was ducking Cotto and his first fight away from Bob he signs to fight Floyd and raves about how professional he is during negotiations. Plus, he just made by far the biggest purse of his career.

    Owned.

I've never heard of any boxer agreeing to such a deal. These guys should just do 55/45 Floyd. He is the higher money earner per fight so its only fair.

let's say during the first negotiations, floyd-jmm made 1.05M PPV while pac-cotto made 1.25M PPV, pac and floyd's teama re ok with the 50/50 split. it's because they knew that this fight is the biggest of this generation and 50/50 is fair for a fight of this magnitude.

early this year, pac-jmm3 made 1.41M PPV while floyd-ortiz made 1.25M PPV. suddenly floyd is not ok with 50/50 anymore.

50/50 is just fair. ali and frazier half the biggest purse of their time and fought.

    are you sdsfinest brother?

you guys won't own someone until you continue defending floyd's ducking of pacquiao by saying that he is earning big cash against lesser fighters so why the need to fight pac?

Its not really about the PPV´s sold number but the money generated.
With the Pacquiao numbers have not been officially released.
But we know that Floyd hold 3 of the highest non-heavyweight PPV´s.

I guess both teams should show each other actual paper work and see if one of them deserves a bigger cut.

This is obviously the reason that deals like this aren't the norm in boxing, but in this case, wouldn't Floyd, who pays GBP a flat fee to promote and represent him, also have Oscar and Schaefer involved in the judge-picking (or wining and dining) process?

I'm not sure. I know Floyd wouldn't be the home fighter since everyone would be rooting for Pacquiao.

Manny will never get the same amount of money as Floyd, so the 50/50 talk is absurd. Floyd runs too much of his own business for that to ever be the case. Best Floyd can offer is a career high payday for Manny and himself and that is it, because Floyd is gonna get money off concessions, tickets, PPV, close circuit, and rebroadcast rights.

Okay dude. Read closely. Oscar and Floyd combined only brought in 75 million. that is with 2.4 million PPV. Floyd is about to make 50 million or more off of the Cotto fight. Neither guy would make 50 to 60 million off of a 50/50 split. Everyone else has to get paid as well.

Now none of this matters unless Arum sits down and negotiates with Shaefer and the mediator and work it out.

i'm a realist...i know floyd won't fight for less than he is worth, just like cotto won't fight for 500k when he can fight for 8 mil and pac knowing he should make more than hatton, so he wouldn't take 50/50

Exactly, people forget how many fights Pac has almost killed because of money issues.

Now hes in with the more lucrative fighter and his fans are still on his side. :patsch
