he fought cotto at 145 w/o a trainer he fought clottey (stupidly overrated...where is he now?) without a trainer he fought mosley (remember "old man mosley" that Floyd fought)..AFTER floyd beat his ass fought Margo who had not done **** for years, and was troubled making weight it isn't the names, it's when and where you meet them...coming off a nice run of wins, or coming off losses...at their weight, or draining them...is their camp in good shape, or do you pick on them when their **** is in shambles?
Then he got bludgeoned by Margarito. Cotto dropped to #4 and Margarito and Mosley fought for the #1 and #2 spots. Mosley won, Floyd came back to the rankings and it was Mosley, Floyd, Pac. Fights that happened 3 years ago don't keep yu at #2 when your ass gets knocked out by the underdog.
I would have agreed, until the whole plaster scam came to light. . . Boxing is subjective, and it's my opinion that Cotto should ahve been ranekd higher than Mosley. .. That's why I don't place a lot of stock in the "rankings" anyway. . COtto was a better fight than Mosley was. . . People who knew boxing, didn't put that much stock in the Mosley beatdown of Margarito, ESPECIALLY after it was revealed he was trying to use plaster. . . Moreover, I can think of guys ranked 3, or 4, who are better fights than guys ranked 2 in many divisions. Anyway, Manny beat pretty much everybody at WW. . . After Bradley, he'll also have beaten the two lineal 140 champs in the past decade. . . I don't know if anybody has done that. . . And yes, Manny is much smaller than them despite fighting at 147 now. . BUt I guarantee Pac haters, and excuse makers will come up with something to discredit his wins. . .
Pac still hasn't beaten a top 2 fighter since he fought Hatton in 2009. It sucks, but that's how it is. Hopefully he fights the winner of Ortiz/Berto. PS Mayweather beat the 2 lineal champs at 147 this decade (Mosley, Baldo)
What about Bradley? Isn't he the top dog at 140? And isn't he in the top tne pound for pound rankings? I don't care if he's fought mostly at 140, because he's naturally larger than Pacquiao. . . that's both top 140 pounders of the past decade he'll have.
Ok good for Pac, I'm just pointing out that it's already been done. Mosley was the #1 fighter at welter man, Floyd # 2. Deal with it.
Bradley, and Hatton > Baldo, and Mosley (LOL, 40 year old shane mosley being hte lineal champ that's why i don't place much merit in "rankings).

Mosley wasn't 40. Pacquiao ducked Shane when he was the #1 fighter at the weight. Roach admitted this. The fact that you laugh at Mosley for being #1 and old as **** and Pac ducked him during that time says a lot
