Hearn: McCloskey faces a reality check if he is to fight on

He can go back down to euro level and try and adjust his style. At times (brief moments) he looks good, if he kept his hands higher and actually blocked/parried punches aswell as keeping his head movement his defence wouldn't be that bad. I don't know how much euro title fights make the fighter per fight but im gunna guess he would be picking up more than the average yearly wage of a normal person per fight, so he could always do that for a few more years. Theirs no shame in "only" being euro level.

 

I remember when he knocked out Giuseppe Lauri and many on here had him easily beating Khan.

 

I see no improvement in his game other than he has adopted a tough man mentality. He needs to assess his game. A million hard right hook and he couldn't even lift his hand up so its ready to block.

3 losses in a row for me - Khan, Prescott then Corley.

 

For me the reflexes have gone at just the wrong time as he was stepped up. Not saying he'd have made it at world title level but he certainly wasnt with a non existent defence.

 

If by "many" you mean a handful, namely from McCloskey's neck of the woods, then yes. The vast majority always said Khan would beat him.
