Mickey Duff dominated British boxing for over 20 years an was heavily associated with Ali when he did his European Tour in the 70s, excellent match maker and was involved in the early days with Mike Tyson hence why Bruno went to the catskills. Met him a number of times, knowledge of boxers was first class and had a knack of matching fighters at the right time ( eg Honeyghan against Curry ) . I belive he is in a nursing home now, great shame as he was always very quotable even if u disliked him so always interesting, the much quoted ' u want loyality buy a dog' is one of many. The book is a great read

A very scary man, who with Jarvis Astaire, Harry Levene and Mike Barrett ran the sport for years. Ironically a young ****** broke the cartel and saved the British sport from ruin.
Flying back from Germany with Micky, conversation got round to a certain Fighter. I said I know the Kid, nice Guy Born again Christain, Mickys reply yes ive heard of them, what ive never heard of, is a Born again Jew.
Mickey Duff was a good man. He really knew the game. Didn't bull**** as much as some promoters. He bullshitted a bit.
