Cotto was trained as properly as he always has been. Name a fight where he doesn't slow down in the end.

This was magnified by the constant pressure of Margarito, the constant battering by Pac, and Floyd's ability to adapt and take over.

    Nothing to see here, folks.

While Cotto wasn't fighting at a high pace, necessarily, he was shoving and pushing Mayweather which also saps you of your energy.

Additionally, Cotto has a tendency to fade.

Cotto was as well conditioned as he was going to be.

He was properly conditioned and properly prepared.

But you cannot expect miracles no matter what trainer does, he doesn't obtain Mayweather conditioning over night.

Plus give Mayweather credit he took it to Cotto hit him alot of body shots and slowed Cotto down and then stepped it up in the championship rounds like he was supposed to!

Cotto has never been known as a fighter that has great stamina. He's a very good boxer puncher that normally is able to control fights because he's a very good boxer, but when it gets tough, he has trouble. I'm not sure why some are bringing up conditioning as a reason for cotto losing, I thought it was rather obvious that Floyd was always going to be the fitter of the two fighters if it came down to conditioning.

I guess Mayweather's body shots had nothing to do with it. :-(

Cotto, IMO, has never looked better than he did against Floyd, as far as stamina, toughness, and determination.

How could the "great Cuban trainer" not have Cotto in top condition? That was his only chance.

That said, things could have been better. Cotto was just a little bit fat. And he still winded too early.

Cotto was as good as he could be at this stage of his career.

Was it the best shape he has been in , no definatley not . Margo 1 was the best shape he has been in followed by the Judah fight.
