That was the objective in throwing him in with Rios at 135.

The funny part is, Gamboa would have still beaten him.

I'm iffy on that. Would have been a monster win for him tho.

This is all in court right now. Gamboa is claiming his contract with Onerous is invalid which makes his agreement with TR null and void. TR is also suing him over the Rios affair. I have no clue how this will turn out but it could keep Gamboa out for way too long. It also mentions 3rd party interference which would mean Floyd I guess.

I thought Gamboa was the one calling for this fight?

If Floyd and Al Haymon join forces and build a real promo company, with GBP handling alot of the basics, its over for TR.

This is what I am hoping for. Al can basically have his own promotional company with out following the rules which seems like what he has always wanted.

Broner is almost as big as PBF. I wonder what weight he walks around at?

Yep they will put TR in a bad position. Because their fighters will have no problems facing each other.

Maybe so but IMO he was trying to make something happen after being stuck in nowheresville and generally unhappy with his promotional situation.

I was in complete shock when the fight was first announced and thought it was a mismatch. They were talking Rios-Marquez and Rios-Pacquiao and IMO TR was trying to hand him a signature win on a silver platter.

You think GBP will be happy with a competitor and not stick to their business as usual model? REALLY?

I see Floyd doing for black boxers what GBP does for hispanic ones. Both being equal but falling under the same corporate umbrella.

They have one now in TR. Why not have one that is atleast friendly with you unlike TR? Not to mention one that will help you try and put TR out of business.
