Why dont he deal with Arum just like any other promoters out there? Why does he want Manny to get out with Arum in order to make a fight yet he knows that Pacquiao is under contract with TR for most of his fights?
Just an excuse........really. This fight CAN be made, believe me. Sticking points are PED tests and money split, plain and simple. JET
Is he even actually a licenced promoter? If so, and he's 'his own man', why is he still piggy backing GBP?
Floyd isn't a promoter, he is like a record label which is linked with universal, he will eventually break off and have a stable of fighters.
People here have posted he doesn't have a promotional license. Maybe he wants to be more manager/trainer with his company, at least at this point.
floyd has been schooled well. he truly knows his worth. pac does not. arum doesn't want to give up his goose. he's already let 2 get away (floyd and oscar) and he can't afford to let that happen again. this is the slaves revolting against their slave master. pac is still in captivity.
Let's just stick with the obvious. If Pac doesn't know his worth then why did he say no to Floyd's $40mill and he would only take 50/50? If your answer is Pac isn't worth 50/50 then don't even bother trying to respond. It only shows you know **** about the business end of the sport.
floyd: looky here poochiao. i'll give u 40 millions dollars to fight me. pac: get from around here with that nonsense!!! massa treats me good!!! he gives me foods...massa takes good care of me!
I see him as more a manager right now. Which isn't bad at all. I wonder if eberyone one of 'his guys' take his required tests? His website, last I looked, only showed 3 guys I think.
thing is...pac, like cotto in the past, has been trained properly by arum. pac understands that if he puts his trust in arums hands that the bob father will continue to pick the right opponents for him and make sure the scales are tipped in his favor. that comes at a cost though. that cost is a very high percentage of whatever is made. arum has spent money to make money and leveraged many things to get pac to this point. he just can't bow out in this situation. pac knows that. floyd knows that. it's why arum stands in the way. he needs to make sure he continues to get his return on his investment in pac. i'm sure at this point that he has made waaay more than he has spent....so why let that go? there are contracts that involve arum, gbp and i believe 2 managers. they all need to get paid. pac is NOT his own person. he has several pimps in this situation. him agreeing to 40mil when there is much more on the table isn't going to fly with any of them. pac deserving less is a different point all together. i agree with floyd to a certain extent. he should get the bigger share...and pac has already verbally stated he would take the smaller share. stuff like that pisses arum off and totally works against all that he has done for pac. when arum is done with pac...he will cash him out against one of his own fighters to keep everything in house...and keep the party going. i believe that is what bradley is in this situation.
Unless Floyd wants to pay the buyout for Manny to get out of his current contract, Floyd needs to cut this charade. Of course, that won't happen. Floyd is still trying to pull the "take the test" card. Dude needs to up his Ritalin.
You get what you pay for sometimes. Arum is now working to help Pac be president of his country. Pac is being set up for a lucrative career after boxing even if he doesn't become president. More money in the graft of politics than boxing. Go ahead and spout "Pac isn't his own man" because May does if it makes you feel better. It certainly seems to make May feel better. "Me think the doth protest too much?" Think maybe deep down Floyd is jealous? He will never be "8 division champion". We will probably never see this again in our life time. Was it legit? Hell no. Does it count with the general public and is that what the record books will show? Hell yes.
So what exactly is Arum doing to assist Manny in becoming President, or to further his career after boxing, I don't understand your logic here?
Floyd WILL get a bigger share if it's a 50-50 split. Floyd gets his 50, TR/Pac get the other. Pac stating verbally he would take the smaller share is moot, since he didn't say HOW much smaller. 49 is smaller then 51. But don't forget, if we're going by previous statements, Floyd originally said 50-50 and take the tests. No way is Bradley being groomed to take over Pac's position. He's just another fighter for TR. He has NO fanbase, and one win against Pac certainly won't make him big.
