My favourite series of boxing articles is back with another one, this time looking at the best teenage prospects in the world of boxing:

I'm not sure who I like the most. Rodriguez looks awesome but it's still very early days but that Russian chap looks very exciting, skilled and very different to most other Russians.

Ponomarev looks like someone who has been to the school of Pirog, he's got a few more classes but he does look like the sort of exciting Russian fighter that we aren't too common to seeing but Saul Rodriguez...**** me can that go be a highlight reel.

Saul Rodriguez really could be the next big American star. Good looking kid, power and a good trainer, little more he could need.

I read that Joey Bryant was the youngest legally liscenced boxer who hadn't needed to lie about his age in the history of the US.

Cobrita Gonzalez Jr. that kid can fight looks like his father both literally and stylewise. He turned pro when he was 16.

Albert Pagara looks decent this early in his career, has more potential IMO than his older brother Jason, but we'll see.

i also like whatshisname, hairon socarras. interesting fighter, speed brawler. hopefully he'll make some noise this year

  10. Nothing worse than teens in today's fight game. Jack Dempsey had to really have a hard and tough life before breaking into boxing. Nowadays, these kids get a free ride as long as they have any athletic skill. They get babied and over protected and they end up being dicks. It's the same in all sports. We wonder why these young athletes have no morals. The reason is because they can get away with everything because of their talents.

The Mexicans are in the position of needing to turn pro young for the money and some of the top guys develop because of it such as Arce, Salido, Morales....

The Philippines really has a lot of class youngsters coming through, I'd love to see a similar article on the Pinoys soonish.

Yeah a lot of amazing Pinoy's coming through, I think a lot of people will have written some of them off as well which is a huge shame (Mark Anthony Geraldo is the one that stands out there)
