    who did alfonso gomez beat to get his shot at canelo?

    who did shane beat? (i get this fight...it's a name on his resume plus $$$)

    who did cintron beat? (again...another name but clearly past it)

    who did hatton beat? (yet again...another name)

    who did baldomir beat? (wasn't he actually retired?)

    vanes is young and undefeated plus he's a former olympian. it's a very winnable fight for canelo...but probably less winnable than the others i've mentioned here...which is why they want him to fight lara. but if lara wins...i guarantee u they won't match him with canelo. they'll give him the zahir raheem/winky wright/vernon forrest treatment. (they'll act like he doesn't exist)

    I think it has more to do with that fact that Alvarez was basically given a title shot without having to do anything, while Vanes has has to keep going through eliminators.

    But really thought, some of you are letting your bias get in the way of better judgement. How the **** did guys likes Rhodes, Hatton, Gomez & Mosley get a title shot before guys like Vanes, Lara & Kirkland? It's ridiculous.

    The WBC is a bunch of crooks and is keeping everyone away from Alvarez. To blame Vanes is stupid. He's done nothing but played their games. It's the WBC who should get the fan's wrath. Even if Lara & Vanes go through this eliminator, the WBC will keep stalling and play favoritism.

    Reasonable position since Canelo will never fight the winner of the fight. He will continue to fight the Ryan Rhodes, Mosleys and Cintrons of the world while the best 154lbers smash each other to bits.

    Were any of those fights a mandatory? You fight in eliminators to get a mandatory. If he wants to ***** about eliminators then take part in a serious one. If he wants to ***** about not getting a pay day then "boo-****ing-hoo".

    Also was he Baldomir bout even a title bout?

    People are talking about Hatton...the Canelo vs. Hatton bout was FOR the WBC JMW belt. He's only defended it against Rhodes (ranked when they fought) Cintron and Shane.
