A strong statement from the Board, but actions speak louder than words. Some of the short-sighted views being uttered on here are unbelievable.
People backing this are effectively saying they are happy for Boxing to be run like a panto in this country, they're happy for it to have virtually no credability and happy to endorse two individuals, whose actions were totally unacceptable, to fight and earn a king's ransom for their appalling behaviour. It sends a dreadful message out to the kids of today. No one seems to be taking a moment as to who is going to officiate the fight, will adequate medical cover and insurance be in place, and the wider repercussions for other boxers, officials and trainers who choose to be associated with this bill. Let them make their bed but I hope the Board does everything to ensure that they are made to lay in it.
Oh get a grip... I'll remind you that it was FRANK who put pressure on the Board after Eubank-Watson II to improve its health and safety. He has always been known for providing well over the minimum standard of care. The Board caused this whole mess by faffing around about Chisora's punishment. For years they've allowed poor officiating, bad judging, corruption and apathy to reign. They've done nothing to promote the sport, little to regulate it, and more to harm it than any single promoter. Let's get the "brawl" in some perspective. It was pathetic, but no one got killed. The only people involved chose to get involved, it wasn't like they battered a journalist for asking a tough question. Yes, Chisora deserved punished, but it's the board's fault for trying to be smart about it, handing down a lifetime ban without saying it. The Board ****ed up. They have been shown up for the bullies they are. Imagine threatening people who want to make a living just because they've been left in the cold.
BBBoC stance is the correct one. They might not be perfect but think about the havoc that a promoter with both a TV channel and a licensing board will wreak on the sport.
"The Board caused this mess". **** me. ESB's voice of reason has spoken. So, bringing in ****ing Luxembourg is a good move, eh? WHY? Don't get me started on the moral high ground of Uncle Frank. What good will come out of this? If you think this is a good thing you're pissing in the wind, but good luck, BoxNation loves you.
