I sometimes think it could be as simple as Floyd thinking giving Manny more money = giving Arum more money. (and Koncz and many others) Arum gets %'s of Manny's money, so giving Manny 10 more mil is likely giving Arum 3 more mil that could stay in his own damn pocket. (as I have no idea of the real %, it's just a guess for illustration)
C'mon man. You know you're talking out of your ass here. There has never been a PPV fight in the history of boxing where there was a reasonable expectations of 2M PPV buys. Mayweather/Pacquiao would be the first one. You can't just throw some Blacks, Mexicans, and Puerto Ricans on a card and it expect it to do record breaking numbers. If this fight reaches 2M buys, that would be unexpected, and a hell of an accomplishment by all parties involved.
leftleftright, you were spot on with your breakdown about how pac doesn't even come close to the money Mayweather makes. Someone with sense on this site other than me finally!!!!
Are you going to honestly tell me that when this card was announced that you felt it would reach 2M buys?
You could be right. I'm sure hatred of Arum plays a part but I think it's more the competition over who is the "cash cow." Right now Floyd has the best claim. Giving Pac 50/50 eliminates that claim. He then has to share the throne.
Only idiots think $40 million for Pac with no PPV is fair when everyone knows the fight will generate more than $100 million. If Pac agreed to Floyd's offer, Floyd making the equivalent of 70-30 isn't hard to imagine when the final numbers are all in.
