You can start amateurs as early as 7-9 years old
World Junior Regulations are 13-14 years old I believe.

    okay. so 7-9, thanks.

    now to amateur worldchampionchips.

what I dont get is that there is

    World Amateur Boxing Championships
    AIBA Youth World Championships
    AIBA World Junior Boxing Championships

meaning, when you fight from 15-16, from 17-18 and than over 18. so tyson was he an amateur worldchampion, when he was 17 or was he an youth worldchampion??
also why cant you find the junior and youth champions on wiki, or elsewhere, no ranks, no nthing which can show what happened..

and what is with the olympics, do you have to be over 18 years old to participate?

You have to qualify to the Junior worlds and Junior Olympics. This is usually done in state contests or summer games contests (Pan Ams, etc) and can be done at the age of 14-15.

Some competitions you can find on wiki some you cant. a good site is strefa.pl for amateur results.
