We saw Mayweather being hit a lot in this fight. Cotto hurt him and even made him bleed.

Floyd seem like he was willing to die in there. I don't know why his health would be at risk if he face PAC.

He's past his peak, but we've known this. He's as good as he's been for a while now. Him getting hit had more to do with Cotto and their styles than it did with age.

It had to do with both.

Floyd proved that he can give it and he can also take it. But I've known this for years.

Floyd has declined, like most of the top name fighters who've had a long run, Pac, Marquez, Cotto, Vitali Klitschko, etc. He's lost some slick, but like Ali back in the day, and unlike RJJ, as his slick decreases, the physical and mental toughness that's always been there goes more on display. Cotto is a very good, maybe borderline great fighter and though he has faced the two best men of his generation, and a slew of championship names altogether-16-he's never been in a fight that he didn't either win or noticeably bang up his opponent. Mayweather was simply not an exception to that. Mayweather's physical prime was at 130, so...what can we expect?

People feel Floyd declined because he's finally fighting all the people at welter that he didn't before.

When you step up your game this happens. You can't keep pulling people up from lighter divisions your whole career.

Given this he still looks great. Cotto's style was different, that's all. He was landing straight lefts. Think about that.

If you paid attention to his training you'd see he prepared to fight this exact type fight.

The big gloves probably had Floyd dis respecting Cotto's power as well.

    same as before - he's a great boxer. . .

i think most who really knew boxing understood this style matchup wouldn't be that easy for floyd.

He looked slower then I've ever seen him before. But he was also in there with a good opponent who wasnt shot or old.

who has pac fought to make him sucha great fighter? Mayweather is 35 years old and i think it would be expected to lose a bit of steam at this age, but so does everyone else.

    Here's the thing.

Mayweather is either going to slug it out with a brawler (in an attempt to be in a "good" fight) and then get criticized for looking sloppy or being on the decline

    or

He's going to outbox and outsmart his opponent and get criticized for being boring.
