There are quite a lot of new members of late....... A fair few have vanished, Laz for example.....Anyone seen Laz post lately???
Just wondering pal, you seemed to know alot more about the British forum than your join date would suggest. :good
Fair enough. I wasn't brave/mad enough to post until October last year but have read the board for many years :good
As a hopefully amusing denouement to what been a very entertaining thread (Conn's abuse aside) I thought I would pay a visit to the aforementioned 'Seaside Pie & Mash' (the 'We use only fresh ingridience' people) sample the much discussed dish in question and give you a report of my experience. However I failed miserably as I bottled it totally .... Furnished with a £5.00 note (£3.80 for single Pie & Mash, the remainder for an Enzo style 'can of pop') I made my way to said establishment. On entering I was assaulted with the most overpowering stench of vinegar you could imagine, seriously my nose and eyes were stinging from the acrid aroma of acetic acid (lovely alliteration there) but undeterred I waited to be served. As I was waiting I saw a plate of food being taken to another patron and seeing the grim reality of Pie & Mash my resolve deserted me: 1. A carbonised pie 2. Potato slurry (it looked like it had been liquidised rather than merely mashed 3. And finally the green **** (Conn: Thats called liquor) that resembled ectoplasm and was the source of the vinegar stench. Apart from weird seafood and offal (who wants to eat a lung?) I will give most foods a bash at least once, but this stuff was beyond repugnant and I was forced to leave. I now await a scathing rebuke from Conn who will no doubt consider his ability to eat this slop a mark of superiority over me. All well and good, all well and good I say.
Bit far for me Baj, but now living in a 'seaside' down I am awash with 'Mickey' type eateries :good For example I have this establishment a matter of minutes from my front door: This content is protected :huh
