My two cents on the Lamont Peterson testosterone situation.

Regardless of anything that comes out to clear his name, why did he not notify the athletic commission that he was subject to testo treatment?

And now all of a sudden when this blows up, his trainer, his doctor and he knows just at what levels he was at and all that, and sure enough the burden of proof is on their shoulders, but why would they keep it in the dark from the commission?

I know if I was a top pro boxer and was getting treatment for low testo levels, I'd be the first to notify the commission that was testing me, not because its necessarily the right thing to do, but because I wouldn't want to get dragged through the mud.

    Thoughts?

Agreed. At worst, he's micro juicing, at best is negligent.

Agreed. The first thing he and his team should have done is disclosed the medical treatment; that's the first thing I would have done or advised my client to do.

His excuse for not notifying the Commission was that he "forgot". The fact that's the best he could come up with speaks volumes. How exactly do you forget having testosterone pellets implanted inside you?

Every athlete who's ever been caught taking PEDs were taking them for legitimate medical reasons though. It's just a coincidence they've never caught an actual cheat.

Top posting people, I think its a very very long and tedious way back for Lamont.

Seems like a nice guy, but they can't just sweep this under the rug saying "We forgot", its just not an acceptable explanation to all this.

A bit disappointing, the guy was such an easy guy to root for, and now this.

How come that if he tested positive in march...why was he then tested again in April?
    What for?
Or do you have to be caught twice before it comes out? I don't get it.

And another thing.. the Peterson camp has annoyed me with this 'we forgot' ****.
Don't ****ing lie to us. Nobody likes a liar and don't act like people are ****ing stupid.

Take the money back what he earned from the first fight and ban him for 5 years

Im also suspicious of why his doctor is based in Vegas (the place where money can get your nearly anything) instead of his own hometown where he lives, in DC. Isn't that like 2500 miles apart!? **** that.

Definitely a shame considering his zero to hero story in the sport.. I think it's gonna be difficult for him to be taken seriously for a while, especially since there's a lot of fans that hear the word "steroid" then instantly join the inquisition.

That being said, however.. If he is indeed juicing then it's a well deserved reaction.

Absolutely, this was a real nice underdog story in boxing, I even bet on Lamont to beat Khan!

We're all left with a sour taste. Oh well :-(

Props to Khan for stepping up and apologizing to fans on Petersons behalf and promoting random blood and urine testing.

When the second sample had been taken, only the "A" sample had tested positive. He still hadn't been found guilty of doping and hence wasn't excluded from the VADA programme.

Simple: Test Peterson's testosterone level at the end of the year to see what it really sits at naturally.

So what is the official line coming from Petersons team? Are they admitting it, denying it, do they have an excuse or what? How are they explaining this?

That is why i don't believe anyone who says they had an injury or they didn't know what they were taken. They could easily tell the commission that the doctor gave them some sort of supplement for an injury and that is why they're taking it
