:huh maybe, but why would you try to fight on the inside if you're afraid of someone's power??? Makes no sense!

Because as we all saw Kessler couldn't use his power when Ward was on his chest. Some boxers need a bit of space to get power in their shots. BTW I don't think Ward was afraid of Kesslers power. Just stating why he fought up close (i.e. because Kessler can't).

Thats true but Kessler needs to fault himself for not creating proper the space he needs to get off his shots...Its on him as a fighter to do the things to insure he's in a better position to get off his shots.

Ward fought a good fight and Kessler just let Ward have his way because Kessler doesnt adjust well when his initial gameplan isnt working.

I agree with these 2 posts. Ward is essentially a defensive fighter. He fights close to negate his opponents offense. He even did that against Green. That made a boring fight but Ward took 0 risk and won easily.

As a fan, I'd like to see Ward step out of jOakland and travel to another fighters home-town, like Froch and Kessler did in the Super 6

You can be shure that we would welcome him to Montréal anytime, if he has the will to come and fight Bute here. :good

Wonder why Ward wasnt interested when the fight was offered in Oakland.

All this talk of people saying Ward wants Bute to prove himself etc sounds even more amusing. Consider Froch has never beaten a SMW world champ or beaten anyone rated in the top 3 SMWs, yet Bute has done both and had more title fights than Ward or Froch.

That would have proved alot, but Ward has a good team who looked after his best interests.
Many American SMWs and SMWs based in America cant seem to win big fights when they fight in Europe. Just consider how Taylor, Dirrell, Lacy, Mitchell, Brewer, Sheika, Andrade, Holmes etc thats not even scratching the surface

Yeah so what? Did Kessler indeed require Calzaghe to 'qualify' for a shot at his two belts by facing Siaca or Beyer? :think

You didn't read my post. "Winning the Super 6" doesn't excuse the fact that Bute was #2 and Andrade #5 when the tourney started, which makes Bute a legit contender to the division crown right from the get go. There IS life outside the S6, Ward is clearly #1 but he hasn't cleaned up the division yet.
