Welcome aboard, Tn1. Let the powers that be know, like Peter Finch shouted in NETWORK, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

I'm in. Personally I think change needs to come through the TV networks. They have the power to legitimise champions but seem in thrall to promoters, alphabet soup organisations and cold hard cash.

If they structured boxing as leagues with divisions, playoffs, etc. like every other sport, the fights would work themselves out. Although not a perfect example, the Super Six tournament was a step in the right direction.

Also, a portion of the purses should go towards an IRA or 401K type investment plan for future medical and retirement expenses.

Interesting, JH. Spoke to a mover-'n-shaker in boxing. He feels strongly about something similar.

    Great minds think alike.

I hate to think of the 'Coca Cola' title being the end goal, as is seen in other sports. The premise is of course desirable. I intend to follow this movement and contribute as and when I have the opportunity.

Start tweeting, q. They can't ignore a flood, if more posters and fans hold their feet to the fire.

    Pass the word.

Pissed at all the alphabet soup titles, ranking policies 'n lame matches, tweet your ire to HBO, SHOWTIME, etc. If they're bombarded, they'll have to pay attention.

A journey starts with a first step.

All sane boxing fans should start off with not buying Top Rank PPV's/shows/tickets.

This. If only people realised how much damage they could do if they just didn't buy their ****. Especially with the age of the internet, if everybody decided not to buy the Pacquiao fight and everybody decided to get it illegally, the reaction would be ****ing mental (i am not condoning this action, I'm just saying if somehow 100% decided to go about it in a different way). **** like this will always go on as long as you buy the PPV's. Boxing isn't doing bank breaking business outside of Floyd/Pacquiao but they do enough to keep it afloat and to make profit and keep its strangehold on the industry.

To make a stand, FJ, would you stop getting PPV?

If you knew for sure that others would join you en mass, would that impel you to do it ?

Well it's that thing of "what difference do I make?" and expecting everyone else to not buy it when they do. If I knew for a fine fact it was getting protested against and it was a threatening movement, for sure I would. I don't need to see a live fight that badly when I can shut down all my alerts and watch it without being spoilt a day later.

Occupy the Ring, I like that :hey

Great article by Springs once again. Most looked to the Ring belt as a last bastion of hope for legitimate championship competition, and its continued loss of credibility only adds to the downward slope of quality rankings & competition in boxing.
