How many times was Floyd hit clean? I saw some jabs but few power shots. I don't think that Floyd was too worried about Cotto landing big shots in there.

Not completely. It was very evident that Floyd would just go back to the ropes without Cotto forcing him to the ropes. Floyd was also initiating the inside fighting a lot. I have personally never seen Floyd lay on the ropes for that long. Usually if Floyd is getting pounded he would tie the guy up on the ropes. He did it against Hoya and Castillo. He did it against Ortiz as well.

Do I believe that Floyd could of fought more defensively and cut down on the offense and make the fight boring for casual fans?? yup

Do I feel like it would of necessarily made the fight easier for him? not exactly.

Right but again I really don't think he wanted to make any of it close ..At the end of the day this is his health we are talking about ..Why would he fight Cotto that way when he doesn't have too ? Doesn't make sense ..He was just in there with a fighter who could stay on him thats all..His defense is what always keeps him out of harms way ..The bending at the waist turning of the shoulders etc ..

I believe Floyd did the best he could. I am quite sure he did not take those lumps and bruises just to make a more exciting fight and please the fans. It's just not in his makeup, and it would not be ring smart, which we all know he is.

Somebody will force you into a fight no matter how amazing your D is. There's no need for him to pretend that didn't happen for good stretches of this fight.

I doubt floyd risked breaking his nose just to make the fight more exciting.

    ****** logic.

Yes he could have made the fight boring and still winning, but he wouldn't have won more rounds...

Floyd is very capable avoiding the fight and potshotting from behind his defence, making the fight a snoozefest. And with the jury in place he still would have gotten a 116-112/115-113 type decision out of it.

So I agree with the original statement, but I don't agree with any of the poll statements.

Certainly not. Bradley's trainer, Diaz, made some good comments about this over on the Scene a couple of days ago. He just basically called it bull****. You don't willingly take punishment like that if you can avoid it; especially if you're Floyd Mayweather where personal health is always your concern.

Cotto dragged him into a war and he had no choice but to grind it out.
