After being informed that*Vanes Martirosyan turned down a potential final WBC eliminator, junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (16-1-1, 11KOs) is exploring numerous opportunities in the summer. His manager, Luis DeCubas Jr., indicated that*Golden Boy Promotions is*actively working*to*secure an opponent for a potential*fight in June or July.

Lara*said to us - “I want to return to fight as soon as possible, the last fight was very brief, and I am eager*to fight again. I have no preferences, I'm ready to fight anyone.”

DeCubas Jr. is disappointed by*Vanes' decision.

"It is understandable. I*understand that in this business it is necessary to have patience and to wait for the*best moments to make fights; this is a business and Vanes pushed*away an*excellent offer to fight*Lara," DeCubas said.

“The options*for Lara are wide. We want*him to fight very soon. Between these*opponents, we've thought about*a Paul Williams rematch*because this is a very interesting fight and many fans want to see it.*Also, we have evaluated*fights against other opponents -*like Carlos “El Indio” Quintana,*who last Saturday knocked out*Deandre Latimore in*six rounds. Another possibility is Anthony Mundine. But if we don't get*these fights, we are going to explore the option of going to middleweight to face a top contender."

**** really does me laugh !!! Golden Boy are a ****ing joke when it comes to Lara , they know what we all know , he'd box Canelo's ears off , Vanes is a **** , im officially switching off to the guy now until he fights a live oppponent , big nose ****er !!!!

Rant over , if i were team Lara id be thinking of leaving GB , they are just not pushing this guys career in the right direction , he's too good a fighter to be so inactive , Paul Williams wont take the rematch , never in a million years !!!

Maybe they could do Cotto ?? , he's a free agent again , and it would be some fight !!! :deal

Leaving GBP won't help much , to go wher? Arum?. It's just a matter of the danger that represents Lara against the cash cows.He must remain active fighting whoever is available out there.I think Quintana isn't a bad option or even better a rematch with Molina .
Cotto would be great of course.

They should of began the PR machine once he schooled Williams , they can make Canelo / Lara / Kirkland tomorrow !!! , they have options , the most glaringly obvious one being Canelo , the one thing that pains me personally is that Canelo is being held by Oscar himself as the new Golden Boy of boxing and they have 1 if not 2 JrMW's who would wipe the floor with him (im certain Lara beats him and Kirkland is a pick em , leaning slightly towards Canelo if im honest) , it absolutley sucks :deal

What can the guy do if he's not being promoted properly

The Molina rematch probably needs to happen sooner rather than later tbh , ideally he could get that fight now while he seems to be in somewhat of a black hole waiting for an opponent

Edit ; Cotto is probably the last man on Earth wanting to fight Lara right now , but if GB put an offer on the table , what can they lose ???

Just keep winning & looking impressive.
Nothing else can be done about him when it comes to the way this business works.
(Suck's but it happens to some fighter's)

    High risk "0" reward.
(Unless you count Boxing heads & People in the know who understand this sport)

In a perfect boxing world Alvarez would be forced to fight 1 of the 2 (Vanes or Erslandy)
Or set-up Lara Vs. Martirosyan on the sept scheduled Canelo fight for the undercard.
    But it won't happen...

Quitana could be interesting. I heard Lara is trying to fight in the summer anyways, so he could stay busy

De Cubas is Molina's manager and doesn't want that fight for Carlos, Lara already ask for the rematch

I wonder how much de Cubas is being paid for not to push the Lara-Canelo fight?

Why doesn't he rematch Molina? I understand it was turned down awhile ago but why not ask for it again? Get rid of that blemish on his record.

    Or a Wiliams rematch.

if he ends up going to middleweight, we know that every other fighter mentioned by decubas priced themselves out or declined to fight lara. as far as i'm concerned, a paul williams rematch is a given. that fight still needs to happen.

I love to see Mundine step up, just to see him broken down. I'm sorry but I can't stand the arrogance of Anthony "The Man" Mundine.
