KT should make the quarters with reasonable luck and could then face a big one with Denitsa ELISEEVA of Bulgaria with the winner been fairly sure of one of the European places. Tatar, Underwood, Dong, Jonas and Ochieva are all in the other half so a final place is a reasonable expectation. Good luck to Katie and all the girls.

Both the other girls, Kavanagh and Smith can progress too.
One to note in Katie's half is the number 4 seed and former 57 no 1 seed, Tassamalee THONGJAN, from Thailand. However Dong beat her well two years ago.

Hi all, time to make a statement on this. Firstly as all the team were made aware on May 1st I had hospital treatment this week and all members were made aware in writing that I would be incontactable this week. I close my account if I am away for any long period of time so I do not get a build up of emails. So many false statements have been made by former team members below. I am very happy to answer your questions. The show has NOT been cancelled. By text messages on Monday of this week Michael and Darren chose to leave the show. Hotel, new venue, insurance and lighting and Performers were all confirmed and in place. After problems with capacity for the Hub with their fire cert, I had another venue agreed in the town and BUI agreed a date of 30th June to allow more time for them to see the structure we were to use. This also accommodated both Finton Glynn and alan Donnellan who would have missed the show through to injury. When Darren and Michael chose to back out if the show I wished them the best but as they are from Castlerea, it would not make sense to hold the show there. On Tuesday the show was cancelled from Castlerea and I am now working on a bill at the National Stadium Dublin with full support from the BUI. Brandon, alan and Stephen are all still listed as was John Waldron until yesterday when I received abusive messages from his brother until midnight and reported the issue to the gardai. I will not stand for any bullying or harassment. It should also be pointed out that Frank ****** has had to cancel SIX fights since January, and Louis Di Bella has just cancelled a second. It us unfortunate in this climate that this happens but it is the reality, and I am doing everything I can in my power to push the sport in Ireland, fully supported by the Boxing Union of Ireland.

THIS IS MICHAEL WALDRON: And the reason I am leaving this message is far from been childish but i really need to defend myself and the accussations that are been made towards me, as MARIA Blocked me prior to making her statement on here she attempted to leave me no option to response hence why I have had to access my sisters account to leave this reply.

Firstly I got to know Maria through John & Darren. After a short while Maria approached us asking would we be interested in a show that she would be willing to organise and run in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, this would have been my Pro Debut so obviously I was delighted along with the other lads. After further discussions she then decided to travel to Castlerea to check out possible venues and spoke to us openly about the show as a group. She then preceeded to tell us that she had booked the venue which was The Hub in Castlerea and that the show would be taking place on the 5th May. We were very happy with this, the date then had to be changed as Darren Cruise had been called to do Prizefighter, admittedly this postponed date was not her fault. She then moved the date for the upcoming show to the 19th May which suited us all and continued to train even harder in preparation for the upcoming event. One particular day shortly after I happened to be on facebook to discover the date and been changed again without consulting any of us as to the reasons the date had been changed or to double check our availability for this particular date. I contacted Maria instantly so see what was going on and all I got was a various array of reasons\excuses as to why it had been changed. We remained optimistic and positive about her capability to pull off the upcoming event and preceeded to get our photo's taken professionally up in Limerick for the posters that were going to be printed for the upcoming show. When questioned about the show and confirmation of it, Maria yet again came up with excuses and could not 100% confirm it. She went on to tell us that she had agreed a price with the venue and how the committee then decided to up the price, so for that reason the show was in doubt. John, the other lads and myself agreed to fight for less money in order to make up the difference in the price, but Maria did not want to hear of it, so in my opinion things were not adding up at all.

Next Maria continued to badmouth the BUI as they priced €14,000 which is completely untrue, at this stage the show was 4 and a half weeks away and there was no posters, venue, ticket prices, or opponents confirmed. Finally after alot of persistence on our behalf we eventually got the posters. I along with the other lads put all our posters up in our area and surrounding areas, and got deposits for the tickets that she promised would be with us on the Wednesday. The next thing we hear from Maria is that the show was now going to take place in a Tent\Marquee which would take place on the same date. At this stage we were now 3 and a half weeks away from the event and were eager to get our hands on the tickets to start selling them, yet still we had no definite confirmation of the show but just had to take her word that all was under control. She wanted us to sell 100tickets each to cover the Show and the BUI.

Darren went and boxed in Prizefighter where he unfortunately got beat. After the fight Darren and Maria decided to go their seperate ways as Maria made a threat about what she was going to do to Darren's ex girlfriend (may i add whom she does not know). After this we all received messages that the show was now cancelled and that we were not wanted anymore and wished us all the best of luck in the future. I replied thanking her for all her help and also wished her the best of luck in her future career. In about 15mins of NOT WANTING us we got another txt to say that the show would and was still going to go ahead, without Darren. I would gladly have boxed in it and the yet again it was for a new date which was now the 30th June. I had no problem with that and txt her to say so, and that I would need the tickets & posters 6weeks prior to the event with a confirmation if I was to sell 100+ tickets, which I'm sure you agree was a fair request on my behalf? I got a txt back which was exactly this " Good luck with getting out there Michael, Take Care, Thanks". This left me baffled as one min it was all on, then off, then back on again, I had not a clue where I stood. I then posted on my facebook page that I was no longer boxing on the Redhawk Promotions Show and that the show was cancelled. People were asking questions I could not answer. Maria then deactivated her fb account to avoid having to answer al these questions as to why the show had been cancelled. I asked Maria to please confirm on the page that the show had been cancelled, this was up to her. I then got a message to say I would be receiving a Solicitors letter about pictures that were of MYSELF that were taking for the posters which I had up on my facebook page. I had signed nothing to say that I could not use these picture on my personal facebook account and there was nothing on the pictures to say I could not, so I left them there.

I admit I did tell her she was full of **** and that I now realised the show was nvr going to go ahead from the word go. and that this was not the first time a show she attempted to organise ended up in a shambles. She then again threatened me with the Solicitors, Mel Christie and the Guards. I only ever expressed the truth in my messages. People think she is doing good for the boxing community but in fact all she is doing is mouthing and running down other boxers problems to others. Maria knows what I'm on about, dont you.... If anyone wants to ask me anymore please feel free to pm me, I have no proble answering any questions ye may have. The realism of this is I'm only about to start my pro career and do not wish to have my name dragged through the mud. Thanks for reading. MICHAEL WALDRON
