Rigondeaux spanked Yuriorkis Gamboa in the amateurs. Can anyone confirm?

I have heard that Rigondeaux made Gamboa his ***** in the cuban championships, some people say he did it two times, other people says three, but i cant find a valid source aside from rumours, can anybody confirm it? one of the cuban posters maybe?

If that's true, that just further confirms that Rigo is a goddamned beast

Yes he did. Rigondeaux not only defeated Gamboa 2-3 times but everyone else too. There's no proof of those fights but the logic tells you that if Rigo only lost " 1 " tight amateur fight in his whole career then he must have beaten Gamboa no doubt.

But let's remember that Gamboa has become much better in the pros, but so has Rigo! ;)

These two are Cuba's gems! :good

It's weird that there's no proof of the fights, the cuban boxing federation should have records somewhere, maybe they're just not available on the internet

Rigo is a monster, pisses me off that nobody with a name wants to fight him

Pretty inspiring, the whipping boy became an undefeated monster in today's 126-130 lb weight class.

Yes he did. If memory serves, so did Yan Barthelemy.

Lara, Rigondeaux, and Gamboa are the 3 amigos. Very skilled and special Cuban standouts.

Let me set the facts here straight, the guy who used to spank Gamboa's ass in the amateurs was Barthelemy, not Rigondeaux.

Barthelemy believe it or not, defeated Gamboa twice for the gold in the Cuban National Amateur Championships, first in 2001 and again in 2002.

Doesnt mean **** the pros are a lot different than the amateurs, gamboa's style and build makes him a better fit for the pro game.

    :hat

    Amateurs mean quite a lot

Isn't the common consensus that Bowe ducked Lewis and tossed his belt in a trashcan because Lewis owned his ass in the amateurs?
