Going by your logic, Salido lost to Lopez cause he had both eyes close?

Was Lopez running, showboating, and giving away rounds?

Yes I have to admit, being from Scotland certainly gives me a biased view of my Mexican countryman.

Jones & Hopkins far greater careers than Chavez ?

You obviously never lived thru the Chavez era... Roy has an argument but Hopkins does not, as good as Hopkins was he is a bit overrated. Roy is up there but just below Chavez for me.

When Chavez was at the height of his powers on his way to a possible 100-0, there was talk of him competing with Robinson as the GOAT, he was not just scraping by opponents, he was utterly dominant.

    To each their own tho.

I'd have Jones above Chavez. I'm not sure yet where to rank Pacquaio and Mayweather. I'll wait until their career is all but over before deciding.

For those picking floyd or pac based on greatness I suggest you rethink because greatness is based on fighting the very best, Pea & Chavez did that in `93 vs each other in a mega clash to decide p4p best.... I also think that both Pea & Chavez beat both fmj & pac H2H so either way JCC & Pea are over those 2.

I would also rule out Jones & Hopkins for the same reason as pac & fmj, their behaviour was a disgrace in `02 when both were ranked p4p 1 & 2 when they talked their way out of a primes p4p rematch, completely ****ing the fans over. I blame Hopkins more than Roy for that nonsense but if Roy really wanted to he could have made it happen, he didn`t & its not on.

Your point about Mayweather and Pacquaio has some weight i suppose, they have been in and around the same weight class for the last 3 years and the fight should have happened. If it happens in the near future then it won't be that much of an issue when rating them in the future but at the moment sure i can see the issue.

Jones vs Hopkins though, not much of an issue for me and i think your going over the top there. They where 2 full weight class between them in 2002, they had already fought one another and espicially for Jones his goal of winning a heavyweight version of the title was for me a much bigger achievement at the time than beating Hopkins again, which i thought he would do with ease at the time.

It would have been a very good fight to happen again, i wouldn't hold it against them too much for it, they proved themselves in other fights and the fact they weren't in the same weightclass it was not a must make fight. In fact i can see little reason why Jones at the time would have pushed for it, with the view of hindsight and what Hopkins has achieved since then yes he should have done it, but then not so much

When you say 'of the last 25 years', are we only to consider what that fighter has done in that time period? If yes then Chavez loses points.
