UFC has a virtual monopoly and they impose their own testing rules, unlike boxing where everyone is an independent contractor so that might not be a safe assumption.

Al Bundy knows what he's talking about.

Dana has said on many occassions that he thought Nick Diaz beat Carlos Condit 3 round to 2, but changes his mind when he's talkin' to Al Bundy.

Al, Ed O'Neil, was a pretty cool guy when I knew him, but that was over 35 years ago. He is from the Youngstown area.

I'm not trying to argue that every single pro sport isn't absolutely rife with drug cheats. I'm merely pointing out the fact that MMA guys are getting popped at a significantly higher rate than boxers, which means either there are far more drug cheats in MMA or boxers on a whole are just way better at cheating and getting away with it.

Look at the numbers toward the bottom of the page. UFC's independent testing accounts for three of those guys getting busted. The NSAC and CSAC's tests account for 35 of them.

Nevada would not have caught Pederson.

VADA wouldn't have either had they not run the CIR test on his "B" sample even though his "A" sample came back clean with a 3.77/1 ratio. VADA considers a 4/1 ratio acceptable while the NSAC allows up to a 6/1 ratio, and it's usually only when they find a higher than acceptable testosterone ratio that they proceed with a CIR test to see if the testosterone is natural or synthetic.

Most UFC events are in Vegas so of course they will catch most cheats.

    What a crazy statement.

Either way... if you are using banned substances you are a cheat and should be punished. none of that reduced from 12 months to 9 either!

Bring in 3 year bans and they'll soon stop it.

That post was in response to someone basically saying that the UFC's own testing could be the reason for so many MMA guys getting busted. Like I said, only three of the fighters on that list were popped by the UFC while the CSAC and NSAC's tests account for 35 of them getting popped.
