If I was floyd, I swear I would fight pac and intentionally lose just to sell the rematch in Manilla then the rubber match at the Garden.

The only way Floyd loses on purpose is if the mob threatens Ellerby of half buck over his gambling debts. :D

Lol, I can see Ellerby about to be hung in the dressing room by the mob, like in Diggstown. Then Arum comes out and gives Floyd the thumbs down.

Ahh...what a great movie that was.

Floyd takes a paycut at 50/50...Pac gets more than double what he has made for a single fight..Pac's career high is $20,000,000 which includes PPV profits..Floyd is making $53-$55,000,000 for Cotto.

Explain how 50/50 or 45-45-10 to winner is fair?

    Lets look at the numbers....

Floyd Mayweather makes 53-55 million with Cotto.

Manny makes a career high of 20 million with his ppv.

So with a 45-45-10 to winner...Floyd can't even top his career high payday.

The fight does 100 million dollars for the fighter share's...means they'll split 100 million.

Oscar and Floyd split 79 million...Floyd got 26 million and Oscar made 53 million.

The fight does 3.0 million buys...De La Hoya Mayweather did 2.4 million buys.

Let's assume Floyd says "ok 50/50." Well now Floyd makes 3 million less than he did with Cotto and Pac MORE THAN DOBULES his highest payday.

Let's assume Floyd takes a "45-45-10 to the winner." Well if Floyd wins, he makes 2 million more than he did with Cotto, while Pacquioa more than doubles his high payday of 20 million.

Now let's assume Floyd takes a "60/40 to the winner." Pac would be guaranteed to double his highest payday (including PPV profits) while Floyd would only make 7 million more than he did with Cotto if he won, and would take a 13 million dollar paycut if he lost.

These are not fair deals...one guy gets to guarantee double his split OR MORE while another fighter only gets to make 7 million more than his high payday.

Any *******s care to explain "WHY" this would be a fair deal?

Good idea but I'm not sure if his Top Rank contract allows him to do that...

I can tell you what's fair...Manny accepting a career high $40,000,000 (DOUBLING HIS HIGHEST PAYDAY), while Floyd gets the remaining share which would be anywhere from $53,000,000 (matching Floyd's career high already) to no more than $65,000,000 (beating Floyd's career high by $12,000,000)..mean time Manny still doubles his career high.

Pac fights more often than floyd.

Does it really matter if Floyd is making slightly higher than Pac? Or is that mother****er so scared he had to hide behind financial matters knowing that Pac is willing to undergo the bull**** OSDT floyd thought would prevent pac from killing his ass in the ring?

It does not matter as Floyd just broke the highest purse......Pac can't touch $30,000,000 without Floyd..your not getting that Floyd sets the bar man..

at 50/50 Floyd makes $3,000,000 less than what he made for Cotto.:hi:

The problem is Arum is going get the biggest cut on Pacs side. 40 mil to pac is a great amount of money. I dont really understand the issue.

They need to start looking at Mayweather like Oscar at this point... Oscar always got the larger purse... even if he was the lesser of the two fighters. Mayweather is the cash cow and his numbers proves it time and time again. He is that dude everyone loves to hates, and it brings people to his fights.

Slightly higher? What numbers are you looking at exactly? Floyd fighting Cotto is about to make twice as much as Manny has in his highest payday...How can anybody ignore that?

Floyd isn't scared of Manny and Manny isn't scared of him. Anybody that believes that really needs to stop spewing that dumb ****. Floyd knows what this potential fight is worth just and doesn't want to just go giving away more than he should have to for the sake of a fight. As a fight fan, I want the fight and neither you or me are going to make anything ourselves so I can honestly careless what they put in their pockets. If Manny had any damn brains he would realize he doesn't need Arum anymore. Arum needs him. But I can understand exactly why Floyd doesn't want to allow Arum to pocket way more money than he should be.
