I'd like to see them have 2 weigh ins.....so they can party like it's 1988 and fight for both the super middleweight and the Light Heavyweight titles.

168...Chad said he can make the weight...he called out Ward...do it at 168...hell, pull a Roy Jones Jr..

WEIGH IN AT 168 FOR THE 168 TITLE....THEN COME BACK IN 2 HOURS AND WEIGH IN FOR 175 FOR THE 175 TITLE!!!

Both titles at stake....I think they did this for one of Roy Jones Jr fights!!

I'd say 175 so there won't be any doubt about Dawson being drained.

I don't necessarily totally agree here, but I do find it odd I've seen many critical of Ward for wanting the fight at 168 - after Chad called him out publicly saying he would do the fight at 168!

I don't get why people would be critical of Ward for merely accepting the challenge.

Fair point, assuming Ward were to win of course.

Even going into the fight I feel like there would be a sense that Dawson coming down is an advantage for Ward. You could say the same thing about Ward moving up to 175 but I think that's less drastic then moving down a weight class Dawson hasn't fought at in 6 years. Plus Ward did fight at LHW in the amateurs.

    Point taken and understood.

On the flip side, since Chad called out Ward and said he would do the fight at either weight, I could understand the possibility if Ward were to want to remain at 168 before making a more permanent move to 175.

At the end of the day, whether it's 168 or 175 I don't think it will have much impact on the outcome of the fight.

Style-wise, all I can say is I know this is a fight Ward has been potentially talking about for years, since he had just one win in the Super Six.

I suspect Ward will probably win either way, but I think Chad is by far Ward's most difficult task south of crusierweight, so it's an extremely interesting prospect.

Yea, Ward might have his reasons for wanting the fight at 168 that go beyond simply looking for an advantage but from a fan's perspective I'd like to see it at 175.

Very interesting fight. I was saying in another thread that while Ward's opposition lately has been been pretty good, they all seem to have a gaping weakness and because of that I'm not 100% sold on Ward yet, at least in terms of him becoming a Mayweather class fighter which is the sense I get from a lot of people. He hasn't fought anyone with the athletic ability and skill of Dawson and if he does pull this off I'd definitely be much more sold on him.

I don't think it would matter a great deal but both would be more comfortable at 175 so do it there.

Also, if Bute beats Froch he should move up anyway, the guy is huge.

Chad shouldn't have said 168. When Ward beats him, people will diminish it to Chad being drained. Same if it happens at a catchweight. If Ward wants full credit, it must be at 175.
