BTW, using that Mayweather beat Castillo so he beats JCC logic could be used the same way for JCC.

Chavez did defeat the "Father" to Floyd's style twice.
Before anyone gets on the "So what" tip.

    That is exactly my point.

Chavez is probably the GOAT at that weight while Floyd may be the GOAT at SFW though 140 I favor Floyd slightly and SFW I favor Chavez heavily. Great fights and I think its moreso of Chavez being the worse style matchup than otherwise. Had Floyd lost to Castillo & Cotto I'm sure more guys would say Chavez would slaughter him but I can't see Floyd standing a chance against Chavez <140 at least in a series. I won't be blinded by the "0".

People are also forgetting that Floyd never fought anyone with the skills of Chavez. Not even close. Like comparing JLC to Chavez is comparing Broner to Floyd or Roger to Floyd as Hatesrats stated.

Agreed. Bigger guys with good boxing. Delahoya, Leonard would pose more problems.

Chavez was one of the best ever at cutting off the ring, his style even without being an ATG fighter gives floyd a tough night but this style with all the attributes that he has is just bad for floyd.

Camacho tried the hit n run strategy & lost just about every round... I`m not saying Chavez would be anywhere near as dominant vs fmj but it shows a very good boxer with very fast hands trying to employ the strategy that floyd would likely employ & coming up very, very short.

Chavez wasn`t Castillo, he was a master boxer, a complete fighter as well as a pressure fighter.

I`m not sure Castillo was even bigger than Chavez never mind `a **** of a lot bigger`... if he`s bigger then its very minimal, Castillo never did much at 140 lbs, Chavez was arguably the greatest 140 lber ever.

If you want to see how great JC was.

Just watch his masterpiece against Rosario.

That version of Chavez is hell for any lightweight in history.

    1. fmj is not more skilled than Chavez, he`s better at what he does, Chavez is better at what he does, they are both master boxers with superb technique.

    2. Castillo can`t match technical skills with floyd, Chavez can... size is not what Chavez will be relying on... don`t get me wrong, JCC is a naturally strong fighter that likes to get physical but his strength is in his excellent technique. Forget Chavez not being big enough, this is simply a non factor in this fight.

Yep, Duran, Whitaker, anyone that ever fought at the weight... Chavez takes them to the limit... that Rosario performance was tremendous.
This was Chavez best weight IMO, shame he never stayed there longer.
