The ideal was to make a gift to Anthony I guess. To be sure to really give him the belt, the WBC made the championship fight before the last Adonis Stevenson fight. That way, Anthony only had to face a really bad opponent to win the title. What will they do next to give him the title? Change the rules and order a wheel chair fight? Will the WBC give Dirrell the title without fighting?

Adonis Stevenson and his promoter, Yvon Michel, should jump on the occasion to claim the right to fight for the title.

This is why i will never climb on a motorcycle. I used to really want one but when i read about Chico i decided to stay away.

You don't know how the crash occured, so why blame the motorcycle? As for Chico, he died because he was drinking and driving, not because he was on a motorcycle.

He's gonna be finishing Martinez. Time for the young gun to start dropping these old farts and moving to start his new world order. First Martinez and he is the greatest MW in the world, then on to SMW soas he can dismember Pavlik then Ward, Stevenson, ERod, Osstohuisen, Froch, then chasing fellow undefeated champion, Lucian Bootaye to LHW where he'll send Bootaye packing back to Romania at the ripe ole age of 38.

In 6 short yrs, the prince will be king. Mark my words.:D

Now Chavez can duck Martinez in SEptember, move up to smw and win the wbc belt there, unlucky for dirrell brothers though, Andre needs to step up and take that bc belt now.

I'm just saying that the circumstances (as tragic as they are for A. Dirrell) allows Chavez to go to smw after the Lee fight (the only way Lee can win is by ko or tko, no chance of the decision - reference Rios-Abril (TR)), win the wbc strap in a given fight and in doing so, duck martinez.

How much $$$ would Chavez lose if he doesn't fight Martinez in Sept and instead fights a random nobody like Andre Dirrel for the vacant SMW title.:think

Let's do the math. Chavez could likely get about 100K to fight Dirrel in Detroit, maybe 500K to fight him in Vegas.

He'd stand to make about 5 million to fight Sergayo anywhere on the earth.

He's 26 yrs old and will eventually move to SMW and LHW. But today he's the #2-#5 MW in the world. He's got at least 2 more huge paydays and will take them before he moves up. It wouldn't make sense for him to jump to SMW when the only big $$$$$ SMW wouldn't give him the time of day before he gets Ward.

Arum set up Pavlik/Chavez for the vacant title maybe? Every time I hear Pavlik talk future plans Chavez is mentioned.

Do you not know a motorcycle was involved? Many pro athletes are prohibited from getting on a motorcycle in their contract. It doesn't matter if the injury is their fault or not. The fact is they are considered an unacceptable risk and thus get written into contracts. Who's at fault doesn't change the final outcome.
