Is it really realistic for Manny to insist on 50/50 split?

Floyd fan but I think 50/50 is fair mainly because both guys bring equal amounts of numbers to the fight imo.

 

1.4 million buys means **** in the history books and on paper he beat up another old faded name while pac was beating up guys in their prime who are bigger and mostly favored

he beat a 38 year old former light weight champ that had 1 great last hurrah 16 months earlier in a huge upset. SSM has not won a fight since....and before that fight, he have mayorga his 4th loss in 7 fights and LOST to cotto.

so in the last 4 1/2 years Shane has 2 wins in 7 fights

His offer $40M offer is about 60-40 (if the numbers are the same as Hoya-May), but the higher revenue the larger percentage Floyd would keep.

 

What does that say about Pac fighting Shane, who had been dominated by Mayweather and looked terrible against the less than stellar Sergio Mora?

 

Anyone who does not offer or accept a 50/50 split is ducking in my book. No other way to really look at it.

 

margarito is 165 while pac is 148 on fight night and gives up around 5 to 6 inches against margarito. ortiz is 164 on fight night while floyd is 150 and is about the same height as ortiz. also ortiz is a mental midget compared to margarito.

 

Besides against Hoya, when was the last time Pacquiao was an underdog? And who is he beating up that is in their prime? Mayweather and Pacquiao have been fighting the same guys, it seems pretty silly to knock one of them for his level of opposition and then praise the other one for his level of opposition.

Highly doubt thats the case considering Pac made around 30mill against Marquez in his last fight, and that did like 1.4 ppv buys.

Mayweather Pac will easily do 2 mill buys, probably 3 million, with the amount of hype and anticipation. There's a ton of money to be made in this fight, also from various sources. Floyd is trying to give pacquiao a sucker deal.

In reality tho this fight just isnt happening and the purse is the beginning of the problems. You have Top Rank and Golden Boy fighting to promote the event, and Floyd and Bob arum dont wanna share the wealth with eachother. It just isn't happening. Unless Floyd / Arum / TR / Golden Boy can all come together and do a joint-promotion thing similiar to what we saw with Tyson - Lewis. That's wishful thinking though.

WTF? So anybody who ever took the lion's share for a fight with a lesser draw was ducking them? In that case DLH ducked damn near everybody he ever fought and both "Pac" and Floyd have ducked everybody they've fought post DLH.

 

Easy answer Sign the fight as 60/40 to the winner, whoever that may be. See how confident of victory both are

 

When Floyd fought Cotto, Miguel Cotto was billed by the *****s as a shot fighter who would get cut up, bleed and quit. But...as I remember it, it was Floyd who bled that night.
