How much did the Cotto fight hurt Mayweather's rep?

As Ive said on some other posts, journalists were saying Floyd lost to Cotto (LA Times) and others like ESPN were saying Floyd looked far from his best and whatnot.

We know Cotto busted that lip and nose. Floyd was all bloody and on the ropes for 12 rounds. Cotto, who Margacheato and Midget schooled, was coming forward all night and Floyd was looking scurred.

Forget about any biased commentators. How much do you think this fight hurt Money May's image? A little bit? A lot? Did Cotto "expose" Floyd?

I thought Floyd would run through a leftover Cotto. I did not expect Miguelito to draw with Floyd, which is what I saw. Or pretty close to that.

My guess is well never see Floyd vs Midget now. If Floyd was scurred after Pac beat Cotto down, what is going through Floyd's head now?

    :lol::lol::lol:

I agree. Cotto did a good job, but Mayweather looked great.

Is that why Floyd was on the ropes for 12 rounds and had a bloody lip and nose?

Margarito and Pacquiao put a beat down on Cotto. Floyd didnt.

Not in the least. What is all this **** about damaging this, proving that bla bla bollocks.

Mayweather comftably won the fight against a very tough top level opponant. Whoopie ****ing doo he got a bust nose and took a few shots, he decided to not run all night but to be more aggresive and that in turn made him take a few shots, he rolled with them and took alot on the arms and was never in any trouble or danger, not once.

It was a good win against a good opponant. Well done Floyd but it proves nothing about anything, considering he tactics he chose i think the whole fight went how most of us would of predicted.

If youre trying to play "Invincible Boxer Guy" and you get busted up and lay on the ropes for 12 rounds, your rep is going to take a hit.

    Pretty simple.

i had it 117-111 mayweather, he has definately slowed down but showed alot of heart in his CLEAR victory.
pac clearly lost to marquez, the same marquez who couldn't win a round vs floyd.
pac fans all sound the same, very skip bayless like.

we will have to find a place in the record for extra credit for floyd bleeding for once in a fight per the hands of cotto...even if at age 35 and slowing down and probably bored to **** and already rich as ****.

floyd shut out JMM for 36 minutes straight.... Pac goes life and death everytime. does it mean much should pac fight floyd next? hell no, its dumb to compare it like you did pac vs cotto

Dats how it works. When Midget barely beat Marquez, or lost to him, people said the same thing.

Only difference is that Midget isn't asking for a 60-40 split or whatever.

Grandpa May probably should hit the rocking chair now. He's hurting his image, and not getting any younger.

It's easy to show heart when your ass is pinned against the ropes all night.

Here's what someone said about the fight.

    http://www.theatlantic.com/entertai...ayweather-jrs-invincibility-and-image/256780/

For years, Mayweather has seemed untouchable, but Cotto's intelligent fury scraped away some of his veneer of invincibility

If this keeps up, not only is Floyd's invincibility going to be gone, so is his "0."

He lost some of that "invincible demigod" hype but earned some respect in its place.

Im far from a Mayweather fan i think hes a chicken **** ***** with a big mouth and exeptional boxing skills. 1 of my biggest gripes with Floyd has been his choice of opponant, picking Lightweights or lightwelters to bulk up quick or boxers who were once great but now rusty and shot.

But for once i cant do that, Cotto wasnt shot he looks quite happy at this weight its actually Mayweather who moved up, so really my opinion on this twat Mayweather is his cred has gone up in my estimation.

Just a minute, this is a complete troll thread, ignore all that what i meant was **** off twat.
