Purse splits are all determined by revenue generated. Who wins has nothing to do with it. No good business person would ever make a deal like that. Schaefer brought this up, even Victor Ortiz brought this up a while ago, just add up all the revenue from both of their fights since 2007, get a per fight average, and make the split based off of that.

i don't get where all this 50-50 is about right to make the fight is coming from. floyd will pull the numbers, we all know this. he's proven it time and again. floyd does the selling in 24/7, he does the selling in promotions. he puts his work on and off the ring.

What if floyd boxes mannys ears off (like Marquez did) and loses a split decision. Judging is so subjective it could never be agreed. Who would pick the judges? Arum? Golden boy? One judge could like mannys pressure and aggression, and another could like mayweathers defense and sharper, more accurate punching. It's another clever roadblock put in the way by Arum and co.

    Shaeffers idea is the best.

:rofl glad someone caught this incredible display of "dumbass moments". :yep. That would leave 20% to the winner which is a better deal in my opinion....that would show great confidence for both sides if they went this route.

The reason Floyd doesn't do 50-50 is because he doesn't do purse splits. He pays his opponent and takes all of the earnings on the back end. In reality, 40 mil is pretty close to 50-50 of what the fighters will earn. Both guys just using semantics to duck the fight.

50/50 shouldn't even be a hang up at this point. It's a shame there are a few really loyal Floyd fans who actually think Floyd has any claim to the lions share when Pac is clearly just as big in boxing if not bigger given his global popularity that Floyd can't touch. As most expected....if there were to be a reason for this fight not coming off it would be because of a "Mayweather obstacle"....we were all surprised that this excuse didn't come 2 yrs ago when Floyd used the whole drug testing gem. We will see if Floyd had any real intentions of fighting Pac if he comes off his ridiculous offer...

If Pac made this offer to Floyd I would pay to see Floyds reaction! He's mental to really believe that Pac would accept... While he may be a little stupid at times Floyd is clearly not a ******.

It's a simple as that... But Floyd has to make concessions for Pac as an equal... Just like Pac has to for Floyd, which he has. It's Floyd who seems to be pulling out all the stops to derail any possibility of this fight coming off.

lol at emmanuel fully knowing he's the smaller draw and tryna pull some kind of compromise from Floyd. Maybe he would have been able to get this deal had a recent robbery not happen, so he could get a gift against Juan. This kind of deal just adds to the incentive for emmanuel to cheat once again. Keep at it Floyd emmanuel is desperate. You almost have him where you want him.

The Timmy fight is likely to hurt emmanuel's average. emmanuel wants a deal agreed on beforehand.

if mayweather was a true g.. he'd respond to Arum saying 40-40 with 20% going to the winner.

that way he can still get his 60-40 split if he wins

    but he won't

But why 2007? Pac was a featherweight back then. More recent numbers are more indicative of their current drawing power. I say 2009-2012 where both Floyd and Pac were in the height of their popularity.

Pac has made concessions, then moved the goal post. Said he'd take less than 50-50, now it's 50-50 or no fight. Mayweather initially agreed to 50-50 and changed his mind. Not to mention the drug testing, the 10 mil per pound penalty, the stadium excuses, and all the other bull****. If they would've come out and said they didn't want the fight. The demand would've died a long time ago. Instead they keep claiming the other guy is ducking, and that leads to more and more discussion of a fight that won't happen.
