Drained or not he only has himself to blame.

This was a cherrypick that backfired on De La Fishnets crackhead ass.

    Pac was prime back then

    he retired Oscars ass
    then
    he retired Hattons ass
    then
he beats the brakes off cotto

all in a 12 month period

we as boxing fans ought to be mad at him for putting the big household names out of the business !!

The flawless execution of Pac made De La Hoya looked drained.

He wasn't "drained", he just didn't have enough liquids in his body to be replenished in time from all the fluids one losses in order to make a lower weight in which he as a "part time" fighter could no longer make without having to hurt him self trying.

Drained nah... You are supposed to look all pasty & sucked up.

I do remember a 24/7 where he said he was at 147 already. This was 2 weeks before the fight. So one can say he was acclimated to the weight by the time of the fight. There's meat to that argument....like if you're already 147 for some time already than what weight were you draining exactly when you've been weighing around that for awhile now.

I think Oscar was at the same status as Pacquiao.

He could've stayed at 147 yet he knew there are bigger fights to be made at 154 and 160 so he went up there.

Similar to Pacquiao staying at 147 but can easily move back to 140.

Johnanthony, threadstarter here. A few people seem to understand what I mean.
But a lot don't seem to.

When I say I don'tthink he was drained, I'm not saying I don't think he was light or shot.
From my understanding, drained is caused by dehydration the body and I believe de lahoya was not dehydrated,

I'm saying I believe that de la hoya got his weight down 2 weeks before the fight. He was training for speed.

For some people, it really doesn't matter if you make sense or not. All it matters is that it's making "your" guy's accomplishment look better...and thus you're a nuthugger with no credibility. Logic be damned.

Yeah. I used to think that was b.s. and he had to have played with the scale or something but fast forward to fight-night and I was like wow...what did he do?

    HBO 24/7 Time: 23:10

He killed his body (which can also affect the mind). To Old and to much muscle weight loss in a short period.

There was also an interview after the fight from one of the boxing websites where Roach is asked about all of this and Roach starts mentioning names that did the same in history. Older fighters that did this and caused ill effects and ended up paying for this.
