I don't even like Mayweather, but even I'll admit that this is ridiculous.

I thought Floyd looked vulnerable, but the way he fought only helped his reputation. It was a great fight in which he held his own.

Arguably winning every round but one while clearly beating the lmw champ. Wrecked his career alright.

Comfortably my ass. Mayweather was never so uncomfortable. Cotto took it to Mayweather and lost a close fight.

We should stop pretending that the fight was competive.

Mayweather's rep got stronger and he is even more appealing since ppl think he is more vulnerable now. The fact that he proven he can take hits and trade which haters were saying he wasn't cappable of doing. Or pick up his work rate instead of pot shotting, handle pressure and intensity from a guy stronger then him.

Reguardless if you feel Cotto took it to Mayweather or Mayweather let him do it. At the end of the day Mayweather took Cotto's best shots and still beat him fighting in a way many haters thought he would fail if forced to do so.

And that makes him even more scary.

Why would it hurt his rep at all? Because Cotto took a few rounds? Cotto is a ****ing beast. Did you expect Mayweather to beat a fighter as good as Cotto without taking any punishment at all?

Mayweathers fans will never say it hurt his legacy, but the fact remains we have use a total of four common opponents, Cotto,De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez... of which right now as it stands Manny has out performed Floyd 3-1

Now I know Oscar was weight drained when he and Manny fought strong argument, However I dont think Floyd fans can really talk about that, keep in mind, Floyd and Oscar were going to rematch at 147 the results likely would have been the same...

With that said Floyd and his fans were okay with a Oscar rematch to take place at Welter for Floyds title at that weight, why isnt it Okay for Manny to have that fight at the same weight? thats my question

It increased his rep as many have said, he seems more vulnerable.

Let's not forget the circumstances. Floyd was forced to use 10oz pillow gloves. Same **** with DLH. It's no coincidence that both fights ended up being more competitive for Cotto and DLH. Pac got to not only use 8oz gloves but also the puncher friendly clitoris gloves if I remember correctly. The 8oz gloves would have made for a completely different fight and a KO by 9th-10th.

I would like to see Cotto-Mayweather II with 8oz gloves. For Cotto, that's a bigger pay day than Cotto v Alvarez or Cotto v Pac II.

All the fight did was prove to me a few things.
    Floyd is the best
he's got a good chin and heart
    he's aging but smarter
    and he's the cash cow

Only on esb does beating a HOFer and top 10-15 fighter in the sport 10 rounds to 2 "hurt your rep".
