He was a pretty good fighter.

I think he would do well with boxers but.

I think Brawlers and Swarmers through time would beat him.

Im watching Unforgivable Blackness" its a Great Documentary

Any fight fan should watch this sometime.

i've seen it a couple times. jack johnson had an interesting style. HE HELD ALOT! besides that, it's amazing, the balls that man had to do the things he did in the era he lived.

it was A pretty good documentary but it was not even close to the social pressures he fought under. People do not give him credit for the strength it took to fight in such an environment. I would dare to say that I cannot see any other fighter in the history of the heavyweight division that could have done what he did . . . the closes was Joe Louis and Ali, but it was not even close when you think about it.

Hate is putting it mild to say the least. It is a miracle that some on did not kill him . . . literally a miracle!

I dont know, Ali was a smart guy and I think he would realize how far he could push things. We would not have seen the same Ali, yet Ali would have been as flamboyant as Johnson. Ali like Johnson knew because who he was he could push the boundaries . . . Louis was happy to stay within the box

I dont get why people get all starry eyed by watching these primitive old timers devoid of skills pounding at each other like cavemen, or in Johnson's case, holding them by the neck/arm/head then uppercutting them (Johnson's signature move)

After all, he couldn't fight for 20 seconds without clinching and holding like a *****. No wonder his best victory was against a fat old shot to **** Jeffries coming off a 6 year layoff

I can tell that you are not from North America! Black folk were considered sub-human back then . . . they thought of i like marrying goat.

its sad because a lot of fans of current Champs have the same POV

He's in the same mould as John Ruiz.

But "primitive fighting" aside, the guy was a pioneer.

A man who battled the establishment and justified that he's worthy of fighting for the title.

I really don't know some of you people can't appreciate fights of old-timers.
