it enhanced his legacy.....winning a clear cut victory over a bigger champion and future HOF fighter in HIS division, fighting in an exciting manner and giving us a different look......this did far more to enhance his legacy than hurt it dummy. he moved up in weight and whupped a future great who fought the fight of his life and showed heart and grit in the process.

while the ts is absolutely trippin about this fight being a "draw" (9-3 for lil floyd), his only point somewhat valid that he is making is the fact on how folks were easily riding the "**** drinker beat pacquiao which means lil floyd would school him" train

he's tryin to infer that because manny whooped cotto, he would do it to lil floyd as well, if by going off that first logic of what **** drinker did

all and all, it's just a bunch of bs, but he does stick it to those who DID go by that logic first, only to throw it back into their faces

Let's look at what some others are saying.

    http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/172741-mayweather-wins-but-it-sure-wasnt-easy

And while Mayweather slipped in a nice variety of shots – some very hard – amid Cotto’s attacks, the fighters seemed to fight on roughly even terms most of the way.

In the article above, you will see a picture of Floyd looking busted up to the lip and nose.

    http://www.examiner.com/article/blo...quick-deal-with-manny-pacquiao-for-64-million

Breaking news: Mayweather cuts, Mayweather bleeds, Mayweather can and will get beat by somebody if he stays too long at the fair...this was crystal clear in this 36 minute display with Cotto.

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/7896077/floyd-mayweather-beats-miguel-cotto-unanimous-decison

Mayweather found himself in a tough fight against a game opponent who never stopped moving forward...The decision was roundly booed by the crowd at the MGM Grand arena

    http://www.thesource.com/articles/216668?thesource-prod=mcppobmk47h3smch03b1a005i6

But tonight we all saw some very different sides of Floyd Mayweather, a bloody, swelled side from the total of punches he absorbed from Cotto. A side that you normally wouldn't see in previous fights

As The Source says, you saw a different Floyd in the Cotto fight. A vulnerable, bloody and beaten looking Floyd.

The thing is, everyone saw it. There may be some Floyd fans on here that want ta troll with "Hey, the fight actually helped Floyd's rep," but a fighter who strives for perfection is never helped by looking bloody and vulnerable. It erases they myth of invincibility.

Especially when your main competition dominated the same fighter who made you look vulnerable, and maybe just kinda old.

Don't listen to me. Listen to ESPN, The Source, Ring Mag, LA Times, and others.

Everybody saw it. You cant put the car back in the garage once you took it out. And Cotto took it out.

Well to answer your question off the break, Floyd just beat him so as the champ he is allowed to have the advatage at fighting at his natural weight regarding a rematch.

Its not the fact that Manny beat him at 147 (well 145) its the fact that Floyd fought him at 154 (where he was the reigning champ), wearing heavyweight gloves and fought him coming off an impressive KO of Mayorga.

Why did the LA Times have Cotto the winner, then? Or why did boxing writer Kevin Iole have it 7 round to 5?

    :think
