Why? Margarito isn't ranked, hasn't won a significant fight in years, and was barely competitive in the rematch. It wouldn't sell.

Floyd isn't the youngest boxer on the block. I rather he had some new victims onto the list.

where was mayorga ranked when cotto fought him? cotto is at the point where he doesn't need to fight younger dudes, if he were to fight lil floyd, the same thing would happen, if not even worse (lil floyd could box and move and make it 11-1)

and why not a 3rd match, folks say the fight was stopped early (margarito was passing all the doctor's tests) and this time have it back in vegas, seemed like every time cotto got a little punch in the crowd went crazy even though it wasn't nothin

margarito had to fight cotto, the crowd, judges, and doctors

margarito tagged him enough to hurt him, that "how does my face look" comment was bs, his face looked beat up that's how it looked

i'm a fan of cotto's, but it's hard to say that had manny not busted up that face of margarito, cotto might've lost again late in the fight

a 3rd fight was just an idea, i wouldn't want to see another rematch with lil floyd, i gave cotto credit saying he might actually pull it off, but to lose 9-3, got me off that train

would you rather see him rematch mosely?

margarito/cotto 3 would sell more than a cotto vs ...

If cotto gets a belt great if not nope!!! And besides it won't be the same fight... It will be a continuation of the 12th rd in my opinion....mayweather adjusted in the 9th rd and from that rd on pretty much dominated cotto

Cotto(e) has many interesting fights he can take. I want to see him fight a good true super welter.

This. That story is done, would be the same thing if a rematch happened, or Mayweather just flat out boxes and makes it a even more wide U.D.

    Bring on the next name.

The win wasn't controversial or a hometown cookin of some sort, there where a clear winner that night. No need to do it again.

Just scene an article. Cotto(e) will meet his team soon to discuss an Autumn fight. Mayweather and even emmanuel are in the mix. Is he forcing emmanuel to move up to 154?

Not necessary i think Floyd controled 90% of the fight with Cotto having his moments...It was a great performance by Miguel and he made Floyd work for it but Floyd was the clear and obvious winner.

    This.

If the Pac fight doesn't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Mayweather destroy Canelo, that would be an easy fight to sell.

That may be part of the recipe in getting a Mayweather rematch. Cotto gets a chance to avenge his defeat against Pacquiao, should he win he gets the rematch with Floyd.

And for Floyd, Cotto takes out his biggest perceived comp and the two make another sweet payday. Floyd would still most likely win in a rematch, so if Cotto were to beat Pacquiao first, it would be the proverbial two birds with one stone.

Not if it's an immediate rematch. Perhaps down the road if both keep winning.

PBF would beat him worse in the rematch IMO. Lets see what else is out there for both men.
